The *Guangji Fang* treats internal injury and blood stasis caused by falling from a height, with the Xue San (Blood-Dispersing Powder) formula.
Puhuang (Polygoni Typhonii Rhizoma Pollen, 10 fen) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum) Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex, each 8 fen) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 12 fen) Mengchong (Blattariae Periplanetae, 4 fen, remove feet and wings, stir-fry).
Crush the above six herbs into a powder. Take one fangcun bi (a measure equivalent to a square inch spoonful) with wine on an empty stomach, twice daily. Gradually increase the dose to one and a half fangcun bi. Avoid raw green onions, pork, and dog meat. (From Volume 4)
The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* treats sudden falls from heights resulting in blood stasis distending the chest and heart, cyanotic complexion, shortness of breath, and a sensation of impending death.
Take Qianbi Hu Fen (Mineral Lead Carbonate, 1 qian bi) and administer with water. (Identical to *Wenzhong Beiji*)
Another formula:
Boil soybeans or adzuki beans until cooked. Drink several sheng (a unit of volume) of the juice. It is better if taken with wine. (Identical to *Qianjin Beiji*, *Wenzhong*, *Beiji Jiyan*; another version states: boil two sheng of soybeans until cooked, extract two sheng of juice, remove bean dregs, mix with six or seven sheng of pure wine, drink all within one day. Adzuki beans are also suitable.)
Another formula:
Sheng Gansheng Dihuang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix, 2 liang), stir-fry into powder, take with wine.
Another formula:
Sheng Dihuang (Fresh Rehmanniae Radix), crush to extract juice, take one or two sheng. This is particularly effective.
Another formula:
Burn fourteen feathers from crow wings (Wuya Chi Yu) into ash. Mix with wine and take. One should expect hematemesis (vomiting of blood). Using left-wing feathers is especially good.
Another formula for falls from heights or compression by heavy objects causing blood stasis:
Soak Douchi (Fermented Soybean, 3 sheng) in two sheng of boiling water. After a moment, strain out the dregs. Add Puhuang (Polygoni Typhonii Rhizoma Pollen, 3 he). Stir well and take at once. Not more than three or four doses are needed. Highly effective. (Identical to *Shanfan*, *Duanju*, *Wenzhong*, *Beiji Jiyan*, *Qianjin*)
Another formula:
Remove pits from five sheng of Wumei (Mume Fructus). Boil with five sheng of Yitang (Malt Sugar). Consume gradually; the stasis will resolve spontaneously. (Identical to *Wenzhong*, *Beiji*, *Qianjin*)
Another formula:
Crush Ma Cao (Imperatae Rhizoma) including roots and leaves, extract juice, take one to two sheng. Cure within three or four doses. Use roots in winter.
Another formula:
Scrape Hupo (Succinum, Amber powder). Take one fangcun bi with wine. Additionally, take two or three qian bi of Puhuang. Take four or five times daily for good results.
Another formula:
Grind Lujiao (Cervi Cornu, Deer Antler) into powder. Take three fangcun bi with wine, three times daily. (Identical to *Qianjin*)
Another formula:
Bai Pu Jian (Old Rush Mat) burned to ash. Take one fangcun bi with wine. (All from Volume 3)
The *Shenshi Fang* treats internal injury from falls where blood accumulates in the abdomen and cannot exit, treating lower bleeding.
Take Hao Dahuang (Premium Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang) and Taoren (Persicae Semen, 30 seeds).
Crush the two herbs. Boil in five sheng of water until reduced to three sheng. Divide into three doses. After expelling the blood, administer Di Huang Jiu (Rehmannia Wine) according to the patient's tolerance to nourish the blood. If after one hundred days the stasis becomes slightly hardened, do not use purgatives again, as extreme deficiency can be fatal.
Another formula, Tao Zhi Tang (Peach Twig Decoction), for stasis from falls:
Tao Zhi (Peach Twig, one handful, length of middle finger, chopped) Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 5 fen) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 4 liang) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) Zhigancao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex, each 2 liang)
Mengchong (Blattariae Periplanetae, 20 seeds, remove wings and feet, stir-fry) Shuizhi (Hirudo, 20 specimens, stir-fry) Taoren (Persicae Semen, 50 seeds, remove tips and skins, stir-fry).
Chop the nine herbs. Boil in eight sheng of water until reduced to three sheng. Strain. Take warm, divided into three doses, to dissipate internal stasis.
Another formula, Xiaoxue Lizhong Gao (Blood-Dispersing and Middle-Regulating Ointment), for accumulated stasis from falls:
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang) Zhuzhi (Porcine Adiposum, 2 jin) Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex, 1 liang) Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum, 1 liang) Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 2 liang) Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla) Luafa (Coagulum Sanguinis Humanum, each 1 liang).
Cut the seven herbs. Fry the hair in the lard until completely dissolved. Crush the remaining herbs and sift them to be extremely fine. Place the ointment base, add all herbs, and stir evenly. Simmer over low heat, performing "three up, three down" (boiling and cooling cycles). The medicine is ready. Strain. Take one liang with good wine, twice daily. Another version does not strain. (All from Volume 26)
The *Qianjin Fang* treats falls from heights, crushing by wood or stone, or falling from horses, where any injury leads to blood stasis accumulation,急促 qi (shortness of breath), and impending death. All are treatable.
Take five sheng of pure earth soil. Steam until extremely hot. Divide into two portions. Wrap each in multiple layers of old cloth. Apply as a hot compress to the injured area. Do not make it too hot to avoid burning the flesh. Replace when cool. Stop when pain ceases. This method is effective for all injuries, even reviving those who appear dead and have been unconscious for thirty years.
Another formula for stasis from falls:
Puhuang (Polygoni Typhonii Rhizoma Pollen, 8 liang) Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata, 1 liang, processed, skin removed, powdered).
Make into a powder. Take five or six qian bi with wine, three times daily. Increase dosage if ineffective. (All from Volume 26)
Jin Xiao Tu Zhi Han treats fractures, internal injuries with blood stasis, pain worsening on cloudy days, and is highly effective for postpartum conditions in women. (*Kaibao Bencao* records: Xue Fan, collect Yimucao (Leonuri Herba) in March, one heavy load (also known as Xiakucao, Prunellae Spica)).
Select the single herb, removing weeds and dry leaves. Wash cleanly with fresh water. Spread on bamboo mats to dry until moisture is gone. Break by hand into pieces about five cun long. Do not cut with a knife. Place in a pot. Measure two shi of water, ensuring the water level is two or three cun above the herb. Ignite fire to decoct. Wait until the Yimucao is mushy and the water has reduced by three parts... [Text ends abruptly]
