The *Guangji Fang* treats bone and muscle injuries caused by falls, characterized by unbearable severe pain.
Take two pieces of old horse felt; the felt should preferably be used and greasy. Place it in a pot with five or six sheng of wine and a small pinch of salt, heat it, then put the felt into the pot and observe its dispersion. (Note: The original text "kan san" is ambiguous, possibly referring to observing the decomposition of the felt or changes in the decoction).
Another prescription treats men suffering from deficiency consumption, internal injuries due to falls, incessant hematemesis nearing death, and faces black as lacquer; this prescription applies to all such cases.
Herbs: Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 3 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 3 liang, honey-fried), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, 8 liang).
Chop the above six herbs, add nine sheng of water, boil to obtain two sheng and five he of liquid, filter out the dregs, and divide into three warm doses. The interval between each dose should be equivalent to the time taken to walk six or seven li. (This prescription is from Volume 4).
The *Jinxiao Fang* treats fall injuries.
Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) one jin, divided into three portions.
For each dose, take one portion, fry until scorched yellow, decoct with half a sheng of wine for one boil, strain out the dregs, ensure the temperature is appropriate, and take before meals, three times daily. There are no dietary restrictions; even injuries from falling off a horse can be treated.
The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* treats sudden falls from horses or carts, or falls from houses, pits, cliffs causing wrist injuries, with severe pain throughout the body, head, face, and limbs internally and externally, accompanied by restlessness, crying out, and inability to lie down.
Urgently find rat feces (Shushi), regardless of quantity, burn them, grind into powder, mix with lard (Zhugao), apply and bandage over the painful area, wrapping tightly. Additionally, take high-quality Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) the size of a chicken egg, wrap it in tangled hair to make it the size of a duck egg, then wrap the hair bundle in leftover white Yue cloth from a shirt scarf. Ignite it, wait until the smoke ceases, grind into powder, and pulverize finely.
The *Qianjin Fang* treats ordinary people who have fallen from carts or horses, resulting in accumulated blood in the heart and abdomen, and numerous episodes of hemoptysis or hematemesis.
Dry Ougen (Nelumbinis Rhizoma) powder, take one fangcun bi (a measure roughly square inch) with wine, three times daily. If unavailable, use fresh rhizome, crush and take the juice; this is especially excellent.
Another prescription treats abdominal distension and shortness of breath due to blood stasis caused by falling from a horse or collapsing trees.
Dadou (Sojae Semen Glandulosum) five sheng, water ten dou, boil to obtain two sheng and half, remove the beans, and take the liquid in one dose. For severe cases, no more than three doses are needed. (This prescription is from Volume 26).
The *Qianjin Yi Fang* treats falls from horses or carts, and various fractures of wrists, arms, and legs, with unceasing pain.
Herbs: Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 3 liang), Ganyedi (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla), Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) (each 2 liang), Shujiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, 1 he, sweat-treated), Wutou (Aconiti Radix) (half liang, prepared).
Grind the above eleven herbs into a powder. Take half a fengbi before meals with wine, three times daily. Observe usual dietary restrictions. (The original formula includes Dahuang 1 liang; another version says take one fangcun bi. From Volume 19).
The *Jiuji Fang* treats injuries from falling off horses or carts, including wrist fractures and arm fractures, where cries of pain are incessant. After taking this powder, severe pain subsides within a breath, and bones and sinews connect within three days. This is the Danggui San (Angelica Powder).
Herbs: Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, fried until fragrant), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, fried), Shujiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, sweat-treated, each 2 fen), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 6 fen, fried), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Zelan (Leonuri Herba, fried, each 1 fen).
Grind the above seven herbs into a powder. Take one fangcun bi with wine, three times daily. If a child is injured by a running cart or horse, tearing the skin and flesh of the knee so that bone is visible, approaching death, and crying sounds are unbearable, taking this medicine will induce sleep. Within ten days, they can walk again. The efficacy is miraculous. Dietary restrictions are the same as the previous formula. (*Qianjin Yi Fang* and *Shenshi Fang* are identical; from Volume 6).
The *Jinxiao Fang* treats internal injuries from falling off a horse.
Take [missing herb name] one xiao liang, grind into powder, decoct with one zhan of cow's milk for five or six boils, mix and take. Li Jianyi stated that this herb should be taken mixed with mutton broth.
