The *Guangji Fang* treats sores arising in the throat, accompanied by vomiting of blood and inability to eat. (Fang Yi stated: I have verified the efficacy of this formula; however, for patients with constipation, one must first assess the severity and consider using a purgative method if appropriate before administering this formula.)
Shengdi Huang (Rehmanniae Radix) (five liang), Qingzhuru (Bamboo Shavings), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Jisu (Elsholtziae Herba) (each two liang), Fuling (Poria), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed) (each three liang).
Cut the above seven herbs, decoct with eight sheng of water until reduced to two sheng and five he, strain, and divide into three warm doses. The interval between doses should be equivalent to the time it takes a person to walk seven or eight li. If unable to take large amounts, holding the liquid in the mouth and swallowing slowly is also acceptable. Avoid cold/raw foods, hot noodles, roasted meat, and oily vinegars. (From Volume 5)
The *Qianjin Fang* treats a sensation of blockage in the mouth, as well as throat obstruction and sores. Formula for Mouth Dryness Paste (Kouzao Gao).
Zhugao (Porcine Fat) (one jin), Baimi (White Honey) (one jin), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (one liang).
Combine the above three ingredients, decoct together, strain, and stir to ensure uniformity. Form into pills the size of half a jujube. Hold in the mouth and administer four to five times daily.
Another formula treats oral ulceration caused by heat diseases, throat sores, and inability to ingest even water or fluids. Paste Formula.

Cut the above five herbs. First decoct with four liang of porcine fat to form a paste. Test the temperature by dripping onto the ground; do not let it become too hot. Add the other herbs and decoct over low heat until the Fuzi turns yellow. Strain, add honey, and decoct again over low heat until blended. Pour into a container to solidify. Take pieces the size of an apricot kernel, hold in the mouth, and swallow slowly, four to five times daily.
The *Shengma Tang* from *Gujin Luyan* treats sores in the throat.
