[Yangsheng] (From *Jia Yi Zhen Jing: Treatise on Cold-Heat Scrofula*) The Yellow Emperor asked: What qi generates the cold-heat scrofula (*Luo Li*) occurring in the neck and axilla? Qibo replied: This is all due to the qi of rat-infested sores, which has not yet been eliminated, severing the connection between life and death.
[Methods for Life and Death] (From *Qian Jin Fang*, *Guang Ji Fang*) Pill formula for treating scrofula.
*Guan Gu* (Stork Bone), *Li Gu* (Fox Bone) [both roasted], *She Gan* (Belamcanda Rhizome), *Xuan Shen* (Scrophularia Root), *Sheng Ma* (Cimicifuga Rhizome) [roasted], *Qing Mu Xiang* (Aquilaria Wood), *Chen Xiang* (Agarwood), *Xi Jiao* (Rhinoceros Horn) [shavings], *Ding Xiang* (Clove), *Ling Yang Jiao* (Antelope Horn) [shavings], *Dan Shen* (Salvia Miltiorrhiza Root), *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root) [roasted, each 4 fen], *Ren Shen* (Ginseng Root), *Sha Shen* (Glehnia or Adenophora Root) [each 3 liang], *La Gan* (Hyena Liver) [6 fen], *Lian Qiao* (Forsythia Fruit) [6 fen], *Guang Ming Sha* (Realgar) [2 fen, finely ground].
The above seventeen ingredients are crushed and sifted, then made into pills with honey. Take 15 pills with warm water, twice daily, gradually increasing to 30 pills, taken on an empty stomach. Avoid raw/cold foods, greasy foods, blood products, vinegar, hot meats, kelp, Chinese cabbage, sticky foods, stale/foul-smelling substances, and raw blood products.
Another formula for treating scrofula.

The above twelve ingredients are cut, boiled in one *dou* of water until reduced to three *sheng*. Divide into three doses. The interval between doses should be equivalent to a person walking for six or seven *li*. The goal is to achieve smooth bowel movements. Dietary restrictions are the same as the previous formula. (All from Volume 5)
