The *Guangji Fang* treats scrofula (Luo Li) and hard thin polyps with a paste application formula.
Bai Lian (Ampelopsis Radix), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, processed with honey), Qing Mu Xiang (Radix Aucklandiae), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (each 3 liang), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) (3 liang).
The above six herbs are pounded into a powder. Take a small amount, mix with a little vinegar to form a thin paste, apply it on old cloth, and paste it on the affected area. Replace when dry; do not stop. Avoid pork, five pungent spices, hot meat, alcohol, and hot noodles.
Another formula: To treat scrofula tubercles and cause them to dissipate.
Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (7 fen), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix) (8 fen), Lian Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Qing Mu Xiang (Radix Aucklandiae), Fu Ling (Poria), Cang Er Zi (Xanthii Fructus), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, processed with honey), Po Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Nian Zi (Plantaginis Semen), Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix).
The above seventeen herbs are pounded and made into pills the size of wu zi (Chinese quince seeds) using honey. Take ten pills with wine, three times during the day and four times at night. Gradually increase to 20-30 pills, stopping when effective. The dietary restrictions are the same as the previous formula. (Both from Volume 5)
The *Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang* treats sores growing under the neck, where scrofula resembles plums or apricots, aiming to dissipate them.
Hai Zao (Sargassum Herba) (1 jin, washed).
The above single herb is soaked in 3 sheng of wine for several days, and consumed slowly. (Wen Zhong's *Bei Ji Fang* is identical)
Another formula:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, processed with honey), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Bai Lian (Ampelopsis Radix) (each 4 fen).
The above four herbs are pounded and sifted. Take one fang cun bi (a square-inch measure) with wine, three times a day. The dietary restrictions are the same. (Liu Juanzi and Wen Zhong's *Bei Ji Fang* both appear in Volume 6)
Wen Zhong's Wu Xiang Lian Qiao Tang (Five-Aromatic Forsythia Decoction) treats evil flesh, evil vessels, malignant scrofula nodules, and pain caused by wind-induced swelling and qi stagnation.
Qing Mu Xiang (Radix Aucklandiae), Chen Xiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Ji She Xiang (Cardamomi Semen), She Xiang (Moschus), Xun Lu Xiang (Olibanum), She Gan (Belamcandae Rhizoma), Zi Ge (Violaris Herba), Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Sang Ji Sheng (Taxilli Herba), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Tong Cao (Tetrapanacis Medulla), Lian Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus) (each 2 liang), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (3 liang), Dan Zhu Li (Bambusae Caulis in Taenia Succus) (2 sheng).
The above fourteen herbs are cut. Boil in 9 sheng of water until reduced by half. Add the bamboo sap, boil again until 3 sheng remain. Divide into three doses. Avoid five pungent spices. (*Qian Jin Fang* lacks Zi Ge and Ji She Xiang but has Ding Xiang; *Gu Jin Lu Yan* is identical, both from Volume 5)
Yan Nian Dan Shen Tang (Dan Shen Decoction for Longevity) treats malignant flesh nodules and scrofula, various wind-pathogen aggregations causing swelling and qi stagnation, and is indicated for various diseases.
Shuo Luo (Polygoni Multiflori Caulis? Note: Text says Shuo Luo, likely referring to a specific herb context or typo for Shuo Lu/Danshen variant, but strictly translating entity), Dan Shen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 2 liang), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, processed with honey), Qin Jiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Wu Tou (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) (each 1 liang), Zhi Zhu Hua (Daphnes Genkwa Flos), Shu Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (each 0.5 liang, sweat removed).

The above ten herbs are finely cut. Soak overnight in fresh Di Huang juice (Rehmanniae Radix). Fry in 4 sheng of refined lard over low heat. Perform the "five up, five down" technique (lifting and lowering the pot). Strain out the dregs once the medicine is ready. Massage the affected area with this ointment, three to four times daily.
