Source of Disease: The five zang organs and six fu organs all possess Jin Ye (Body Fluids). If the zang or fu organs generate Heat due to deficiency or excess, the internal Heat will cause the depletion and reduction of Jin Ye, resulting in thirst. Individuals who frequently drink water are likely to experience dizziness; if accompanied by coldness in the back and vomiting, it is due to weakness caused by excessive diuresis. Upon pulse diagnosis, a heart pulse that is slippery and excessive indicates a predisposition to severe thirst. If this condition persists and changes, it may develop into Yong Ju (abscesses and sores) or Shui Bing (water disease/edema). (From Volume 5)
Formula for Recent Effectiveness: A prescription for treating thirst followed by frequent drinking, leading to vomiting, regurgitation, emaciation, and weakness, with the fear of developing abscesses or water disease.
