The etiology involves the axilla being constantly damp and emitting a foul odor, sometimes leading to sores; this condition is termed "Lou Ye" (axillary leakage with odor). This is also due to disharmony of Qi and Blood, invasion by Wind pathogen, and stagnation of body fluids, resulting in dampness and odor. (From Volume 31)
Ji Yan Fang treats Lou Ye: The axilla, sole of the foot, palm, inner thigh, etc., are constantly moist like sweating and emit an odor.
Six-Ingredient Hu Fen Paste Formula.
Dried Lycium root bark (Ban Liang), Hu Fen (Lead Carbonate, Yi Liang), Dried Phytolacca root (Yi Liang), Talcum (Yi Liang), Dried Rosa multiflora root bark (Ban Liang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao, unquantified).
Crush the above herbs and sieve them. Mix with vinegar (Ku Jiu) and apply to the axilla. It should induce slight sweating. Change clothes and reapply. Healing occurs within no more than three applications. If it recurs, reapply. Do not overuse, as it may damage the axillary skin. It can be applied to other areas as well. (From Duan Ju, Wen Zhong Bei Ji, Fan Wang, same as Vol. 9)

First, mix realgar (Ci Huang) and calcined iron oxide (Duan Shi) in equal parts, boil in water for one boil until it becomes paste-like, apply to depilate the hair, then apply other medicines. This is effective. (All from Vol. 5)
