The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept in the Sleeve) treats hemorrhoids with itching and pain in the lower anal region, feeling as if bitten by insects.
Hufen (Lead Carbonate), Shuiyin (Mercury).
Take the above two ingredients, blend them evenly with jujube paste, wrap in cotton, and insert into the anus for retention during sleep at night; this is effective. (Cui Shi's prescription is identical.)
Another prescription:
Cook Tusizi (Cuscutae Semen) until yellowish-black, grind into powder, mix with Ji Zi Huang (Egg Yolk), and apply topically. (*Ji Yan Wen Zhong Bei Ji Fan Wang Cui Shi* all record this prescription.)
Another prescription:
Cook Xingren (Prunus Armeniacae Semen) until black, pound to extract paste, and apply topically. (*Ji Yan Bei Ji Wen Zhong Cui Shi* all record this prescription.)
Another prescription:
Burn Pi (Bark) to ash and apply externally; additionally, burn Tan Gan (Aonyx Liver) to ash, pound into powder, and take orally. (*Cui Shi Bei Ji Wen Zhong* all record this prescription.)
Another prescription:
Heat urine, add a small amount of Fanshi (Alumen), and wash the area; this is beneficial. (*Cui Shi* records this, both from Volume 2.)
*Wen Zhong Fang* treats hemorrhoids where the lower anal region feels like being bitten by insects.
Take one hu of Tao Ye (Peach Leaf), steam until hot, place in a vessel with a small opening, cover with cloth, and sit on it; once the insects die, the condition heals. (*Zhouhou*, *Cui Shi*, *Bei Ji* record the same prescription; one contains Wu Mei.)
Another prescription:
Dig a small pit in the ground, heat until red-hot, pour wine into it, add three sheng of pounded Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus), cover with a board while hot, open a small hole, and sit over the hole with the affected part; descend when cool. Not more than three applications are needed for healing. (*Zhouhou*, *Cui Shi*, *Bei Ji* record the same.)
Another prescription:
Take one sheng of Xiaodou (Adzuki Bean), boil with five sheng of good Ku Jiu (Sour Wine) until cooked, remove and dry in the sun, then put back in until the wine is absorbed. Grind into powder, take one cun bi (measure) with wine, three times daily. (*Cui Shi*, *Bei Ji* record the same.)
Another prescription:
Soak one sheng of Zhu Jiaoz (likely referring to a specific pepper or spice variety) in one sheng of wine for five days, drink gradually, finishing within one day is best. (*Cui Shi* records this, from Volume 6.)
*Cui Shi Fang* treats sudden heavy bleeding from defecation, up to one sheng or several he, with little blood color; this is caused by internal injury from wind-cold, accumulating over years and transforming into hemorrhoids.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 5 fen), Gansui (Kansui Radix, 3 fen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 2 fen), Jiangjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, each 4 fen, processed), Taoren (Persicae Semen, 37 pieces, skin and tip removed), Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus, 7 stalks).
Take the above seven ingredients, decoct in six sheng of water to obtain one and a half sheng of liquid. Take half a sheng first; symptoms will slightly ease. Then take another half sheng; after a moment, blood flow will stimulate. Take the final half sheng. If not cured, prepare again on the day of recurrence. Not more than three doses are needed for healing. Avoid pork and other foods.
Another prescription:
Decoct Taopi (Peach Bark) and Lipi (Plum Bark), along with Xuliao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba) and Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), extract the juice, and use for soaking; this is excellent. (From Volume 4.)
*Beiji Fang* treats rectal bleeding due to chronic wind-cold accumulation, which often transforms into hemorrhoids.
Burn Daogao (Rice Straw) to ash, leach the juice, heat the decoction, and soak the area; three to five times is ideal. (*Cui Shi*, *Zhouhou*, *Wen Zhong* record the same.)
