The etiology involves the formation of disease due to accumulation and mass (Ji Ju). When pathogenic factors accumulate internally, the movement of Qi becomes obstructed and fails to circulate freely. This stagnation then attacks the Zang-Fu organs, resulting in distension and fullness of the heart and abdomen, accompanied by irritability and shortness of breath.
(From Volume 19)
Shenshi Aconite Pill: Treats accumulation and mass with distension and fullness in the heart and abdomen, reduced appetite with frequent aversion to food, pain around the umbilicus, hardness upon palpation resembling a row of hands, internal cold with water retention and rebellious Qi, residual diseases after childbirth in women, wind-manic disorders in adults, and various wind-strike convulsive epilepsy conditions in children. During the Yuanjia era, it was used to treat several patients with good results. One patient, after taking five doses, expelled three worms over one chi long, and four black, hard objects resembling ox gallstones, which contained undigested rice; the disease was cured immediately.
Formula:
Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Wutou, 7 pieces, processed) Dried Ginger (Ganjiang, 5 fen) Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zaojiao, 5 fen, stir-baked with skin and seeds) Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu, 3 fen) Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guixin, 4 fen)

The etiology of accumulation with indigestion of retained food is caused by cold pathogenic factors invading the Zang-Fu organs. Due to deficiency-cold of the Spleen and Stomach, digestion fails, causing food to remain as retained food. Palpation reveals a firm pulse. Accumulation in the heart and abdomen with inability to digest food is due to cold in the Stomach. (From Volume 19)
Qianjin Yi Santai Pill: Treats accumulation of cold and heat in the Five Viscera, abdominal distension, borborygmus, and belching. It addresses malnutrition where food does not transform into muscle tissue, and severe cases of vomiting and rebellious Qi. If contracted Shanghan or cold malaria has healed, this prevents recurrence. Take five pills after meals; those who drink alcohol may take ten pills. Long-term use harmonizes bowel movements and urination and promotes muscle growth.
Formula:
