The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept in the Sleeve) treats wind-stroke caused by metal wounds.
Based on the size of the wound, use an appropriate amount of *Shujiao* (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxyli Fructus*), make it into a wonton shape using flour, roast it in ash until cooked. While hot, open a small hole and cover it directly over the wound to draw out the wind pathogen. Prepare multiple for use until recovery. (This prescription is also found in the third volume of *Beiji Duanju*).
The *Bixiao Fang* (Effective Prescription) treats wind-stroke from metal wounds presenting with opisthotonos.
Take *Xingren* (Apricot Seed, *Armeniacae Semen Amarum*), crush it, steam until oil exudes, pound and squeeze to extract the oil/juice. Take approximately one *sheng* (a unit of volume), and simultaneously massage it onto the wound. Recovery will follow.
Another prescription:
Take one *sheng* of garlic, remove the core, boil in four *sheng* of wine without lime (clear wine) until extremely soft. Consume the garlic and the liquid together, at least one *sheng*. Within a short time, profuse sweating like rain will occur, indicating recovery.
Another prescription for trismus (lockjaw) preventing speech:
Take one *sheng* of *Manjingzi* (Turnip Seed, *Brassicae Pekinensis Semens*), wash thoroughly, pound finely until sticky, and form into moxa cones. Apply moxibustion to the wound once or twice; when heat penetrates deeply, recovery occurs. Also take the following prescription.
Another prescription for wind invasion due to wounds:
Take one *he* (a unit of volume) of chicken manure and two *sheng* of black beans (*Wudou*, *Glycines Sojae Semen Nigrum*), winnow to clean. Mix the two ingredients and stir-fry in a pan until scorched black. Pour out while hot, pour two large *sheng* of wine over them, and administer to the patient according to tolerance, aiming for sweating as the sign of recovery. If no sweat occurs, prepare and administer again.
Another prescription for wind invasion causing opisthotonos:
Take *Langdanggen* (Datura Root, *Daturae Radix*), cut to fit the size of the wound flatly. If none are large enough, bind several together and weigh against the wound to determine the limit. Use one *he* of *Zhuzhi* (Pork Lard, *Suis Adeps*) and salt powder equivalent to the yolk of one chicken egg. (Note: The original text appears incomplete here).
Another prescription:
Boil fresh chicken eggs (*Jizi*, *Galli Ovum*) and black sesame seeds (*Wuma*, *Sesami Nigrum Semen*) together until slightly thick. Wait for it to cool and apply as a poultice to seal the wound.
The *Gujin Luyan* records treating wind-stroke from metal wounds, characterized by body stiffness and rigidity, trismus preventing speech, whether caused by lacerations/blows or injuries from axes/knives, where wind invasion leads to near-death states. This prescription is universally effective. It employs the method of burning a gourd (*Hu*, *Lagenariae Spongiosa Fructus*) and smoking with a hemp candle.
Take one unopened long-stemmed gourd, open its mouth, and cut an opening corresponding to the wound size. Seal the surrounding edges tightly to prevent air entry... (Text continues in Volume 34).
