According to etiology, Fengkuang (Wind-induced Mania) is caused by Wind pathogen invading and merging with the Yang meridians. When the Wind pathogen enters the blood vessels, it causes an imbalance of deficiency and excess in the body's Yin and Qi. If there is one state of excess and one of deficiency, the movement of Qi and Blood becomes turbulent, leading to various malignant symptoms such as disheveled hair, loud screaming, attempts to kill others, and disregard for water and fire hazards.
*Qianjin Fang* (Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) treats Kuangxie (Maniacal Evil): Grind Kushen (Sophorae Root, *Sophora flavescens*) into powder, mix with honey to make pills the size of Chinese wolfberry seeds. Take ten pills each time, washed down with Bohe Tang (Mint Decoction).
Another prescription treats Diankuang (Epileptic Mania) where the patient does not recognize people: Burn human feces to ash, mix with wine, and take orally.
Another prescription treats Fengkuang (Wind-induced Mania) causing hundred diseases: Take Maharen (Cannabis Seed, *Cannabis sativa*) four sheng, add eight sheng of water, boil vigorously until foam resembling "tooth growth" appears. Remove dregs, continue decocting until seven sheng remain. Take on an empty stomach in the morning. The patient may speak nonsense, remain silent, or talk excessively; do not be surprised. Simply have someone massage the patient's hands and feet to calm them down. Administer a total of three doses.
*Qianjin Yifang* (Supplement to Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) treats Diankuang (Epileptic Mania) where the patient does not recognize people: Grind Fulonggan (Caosin, *Fodder Dragon Liver/Heart Earth*) into powder, mix with water, and take one cunbi (square-inch scoop) per dose, three times daily.
*Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Ke Up My Sleeve) treats Fengkuang (Wind-induced Mania) with loss of mind: Take Tingli (Descurainiae Semen, *Descurainia sophia*) one sheng, pound three thousand times. Suspend a white dog upside down, strike it with a stick to let blood flow out, collect the blood, and mix it with Tingli powder to make pills the size of hemp seeds. Take one pill at a time, divided into three doses until recovery.
Another prescription: Take Langdangzi (Daturae Fructus, *Datura metel*) two sheng, soak in five sheng of wine. Remove and dry in the sun, then soak again until the wine is fully absorbed. Pound the mixture. Take one qianbi (coin-sized scoop) per dose, three times daily. Do not take too much, as it will worsen the mania.
Another prescription: Grind Fangkui (Araliae Radix, *Aralia continentalis*) into powder, take with wine, one dao gui to two or three dao gui per dose. Stop when the body feels moist and slightly numb, which indicates efficacy.
Another prescription: Take the rope from a person who hanged themselves, burn it to ash, and take an amount held between three fingers orally.
