Pound these three ingredients into powder and apply it to the painful tooth. Alternatively, mix the powder with wax from the twelfth lunar month to form pills, place them on the cavity of the carious tooth, and continue until cured.
According to Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun (Treatise on the Pathogenesis and Symptoms of All Diseases): Toothache refers to pain radiating between teeth. Teeth are the termination of bones and are nourished by marrow. The branch meridian of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian enters the teeth. If marrow qi is insufficient and the Yangming meridian is deficient, failing to nourish the teeth, and if injured by wind-cold pathogenic factors, pain occurs. Additionally, if worms infest the teeth, cavities appear at the tooth roots due to worm erosion.
