(Referring to the sore occurring between the thumb and index finger, commonly known as "Yazhi")
Apply a paste made from crushing a live crab onto the affected area.
For scalds on the arm caused by boiling water, where the skin has completely peeled off:
Apply ash derived from burning cat skull bones; this is effective.
If red thread-like veins appear in the palm and are lanced, causing continuous bleeding:
Cauterize the wound with a lamp flame; it will naturally gradually heal and flatten.
When heat-toxin attacks the hand, causing swelling, pain, and a sensation of impending detachment:
Apply a mixture of pig fat and sheep manure. Alternatively, wash the affected area with water boiled with horse manure.
Grind *Smilax glabra* rhizome (Shancigu) into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply to the sore. Alternatively, crush pig gallbladder and earthworms together and apply. Alternatively, crush fresh snails and apply. Alternatively, smear with slug (Yanyou) mixed with soy sauce; cure within one day. Alternatively, boil leaves of yellowing green onion (*Allium fistulosum*) in water, and soak the affected area while hot. Alternatively, grind equal parts of *Taraxacum mongolicum* (Pugongying) and *Xanthium sibiricum* (Can'ercao) into powder, and wash with water. Alternatively, crush dark plums (Wumei), soak in vinegar. Alternatively, soak in decoction prepared from *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gancao).
Crush *Jatropha curcas* seeds (Dafengzi) into a paste and apply.
Take one large radish, hollow it out, place five qian of ground pitch inside, and simmer over a stove fire until cooked. Allow to cool, then extract the oil and rub it onto the affected area. Alternatively, use powder of *Bletilla striata* (Baiji)...
Chew raw *Ginkgo biloba* seeds (Baiguo) thoroughly and apply nightly. Alternatively, wash the affected area with hot wine mixed with pig brain marrow; it will heal spontaneously.
Take a section of Chinese yam (Shanyao), grind it into a paste, and apply. Alternatively, burn old loofah sponge until charred but retaining its nature, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month, and apply. Alternatively, melt one liang of rosin (Songxiang) over fire, mix, and apply while hot. (This method also treats paronychia/Daizhi). Alternatively, boil pigeon droppings to make a thick liquid, wash the area several times; effective. Alternatively, wash with decoction of winter melon peel (five to six liang) and eggplant roots (several liang); it will heal spontaneously.
Crush bitter vegetables (Kucaicai) and apply as a poultice; good efficacy.
Swelling of the palms and soles (caused by wind pathogen):
Grind Sichuan peppercorns (Huajiao) into powder, mix with salt and vinegar, and seal the area; it will heal spontaneously.
Decoct mulberry branches and leaves, and soak/wash the affected area.
Sudden swelling in the palms or soles, which may be painful or painless, ulcerated or non-ulcerated, is named Chuanzhang. Also known as Qingju. Also known as Tuopan.
Raw *Aconitum carmichaelii* lateral root (Sheng Fuzi)... still... healed. Strictly avoid eating goose meat forever. For those not yet ulcerated, mix white salt and Sichuan peppercorn powder (equal parts) with vinegar and apply. Do not use if already ulcerated.
Take wooden boards from major intersections used by many people for urination, specifically the white, rotted parts. Burn them with charcoal fire, grind into fine powder, add borneol (Bingpian)...
