Three-drum white horse dung. Pounded together with garlic and applied externally.
Garlic (ten slices, peeled; select those from the doorway on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month), Fulonggan (Dragon's Liver, a lump the size of a duck egg), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, one chi two cun). The above are pounded together. Mixed with aged wine into a paste-like consistency. Spread onto cloth. Cover the affected area. It will subside in three days. White horse urine pounded together with Bai Jiangcan (White Silkworm, dried larva of Bombyx mori infected with Beauveria bassiana) and applied externally.
(This arises from food entering the body; over time, it feels as if insects are moving between the chest and stomach, craving only oil.) Oil (one sheng), boiled with Xiangze (Perilla seed oil). Place the patient's head [over the steam]. When they cry out, attempt to make them drink. Do not give it directly. They will become extremely exhausted and fall asleep. When symptoms appear, grasp the mass with hands dusted with ash powder and pull it out. The shape extracted will be similar. No contraindications. Also [for conditions in] the chest and throat [where the patient] does not eat for days, lies with mouth open. Apply oil, Congbai (Scallion White), Chi Shi (Fermented Soybeans)...
Generally, for stagnation of food and drink, fullness and distension in the chest and diaphragm, or constipation, or diarrhea, or in the elderly, or those with weak constitutions who cannot tolerate aggressive internal treatment: Use Luangfa (Human Hair Tangle, a ball cut into pieces), Jiuqu (Medicated Leaven, one small piece or two or three), Congbai (Scallion White, seven stalks), Laojiang (Old Ginger, two qian), Hujiao (Black Pepper...), Jidan (Chicken Egg, one, cracked shell, poured into a bowl). Pound all medicines until melted, mix evenly. Boil overnight lamp oil into a cake. Apply to the patient's lower chest/stomach region (Xin Kou / Wei Wan). (First rub the Wei Wan area ten times with lamp oil in the direction of flow before applying; if too hot, place paper between skin and patch). Bind with a cloth belt. If cold, reheat by boiling and apply again. After about one to two hours, if it feels loose, remove immediately. The illness will heal instantly. Repeatedly tested, miraculous.
