For men, women, and children suffering from chronic dysentery (chronic diarrhea with blood/mucus) that has not responded to various treatments, this prescription is most effective. Use Dingxiang (Clove), Shexiang (Musk), and Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) in equal parts, grind into powder. Take an amount the size of a large bean, and blow it into the lower orifice (anus) using a bamboo tube. For children, take half the dose, reducing according to their capacity. It will heal within no more than three or four applications.
Apply Mustard Seed Powder (Jiezi Mo) mixed with vinegar topically.
Boil approximately half a jin (approx. 500g) of Xiancao (Cocklebur Fruit) and wash the affected area with the decoction; this is effective. Alternatively, boil Yinchen (Artemisia Capillaris Herba) into a concentrated juice for washing.
Use Weilingxian (Syringa Vulgaris Root), Linglingxiang (Lysimachiae Folium), and Maoxiang (Agrostis Linearis Herb) (each half a jin), Ganheye (Dried Lotus Leaf), Gaoben (Ligustici Chuanxiong Hort. Rhizoma), Huoxiang (Pogostemon Cablin Herb), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), and Gansong (Nardostachyos Radix et Rhizoma) (each four liang). Grind finely. Each time use four liang, add one and a half buckets of water, boil several times, and bathe in the room.
Decoct Taozhi (Peach Twig) with leaves and rinse frequently.
Grind Shed Snake Skin (Shetui) into powder, mix with Sesame Oil (Mayou), and rub on. The worms will discharge and self-heal.
Use Zhuye (Bamboo Leaf) (ten liang) and Taobaipi (Pericarpium Persicae) (four liang), add one dan two dou (approx. 120 liters) of water, boil down to five dou. Bathing with this yields a fragrant body.
Regardless of where the pain is located, apply Hegushu Mo (Polygoni Multiflori Radix Praeparata powder) mixed with Ginger Juice (Jiangzhi) as a paste. Apply to the site, wrap with cloth, and iron over it with a fire-heated shoe sole.
Take several sheets of paper used to seal a wine jar, tear them into pieces like catkins, spread them over the bleeding area, press down to stop bleeding immediately, and do not remove them.
Mix Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis) (one liang) and Miduoseng (Lithargyrum) (one qian), grind into powder, mix with water for topical application, then cover with a plaster. It will naturally dissipate over time.
If flying silk entangles the ears, nose, hands, or feet causing unbearable swelling and pain, wash with a concentrated decoction of Weilingxian to cure.
When this condition (Head Wind/Bian Zheng Tou Feng) attacks, even in midsummer, there is aversion to wind, and the pain is unbearable. Stir-fry Qiaomai Fen (Buckwheat Flour) until hot, add vinegar and stir-fry again. Apply while hot. Wrap tightly to avoid exposure to wind. Replace when cold. Continue day and night without interruption for spontaneous healing. After healing, yellow fluid may flow from the nose for several days, after which the root cause is eliminated. This is a prescription for Head Wind (also treats common cold headache, but ineffective for Qi deficiency and wind-fire/insect pain). Additionally, decoct an old black fish head and fumigate several times to eliminate the root cause.
Qu (Mylabris/Blister Beetle) (one piece, remove head, feet, and wings), grind finely between papers into powder, sift away the shell powder. Take a small amount of powder, place it on a plaster. If the left side hurts, apply to the right; if the right side hurts, apply to the left. Leave on for half a day by placing under the foot, then remove. It will never recur. Prolonged application may cause blisters.
Additionally, mix Liu Huang (Sulfur) (one qian) and Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (select red ones, grind into powder, three fen). Blend well, melt into a small cake. For left-sided pain, insert into the left nostril; clear mucus will discharge from the right nostril. For right-sided pain, insert into the right nostril; for central pain, insert into the middle nostril. Cure when clear mucus flows out completely.
Additionally,揉 (rub/knead) Zhen Qiai (Qicheng Mugwort Leaf) into pills. Sniff intermittently through the nose until yellow fluid discharges completely.
Additionally, mix Fengwei Cao Ni (Pteris Multifida Mud/Paste) with Shexiang (Musk) (one fen), blend well, and apply to the Fontanelle (Xinmen); this is very effective.
Additionally, if symptoms occur during rainy weather, mix Guixin (Cinnamon Twig) powder (one liang) with wine and apply to the forehead.
Additionally, grind Jue Ming Zi (Cassiae Semen) (three qian) into powder, mix with water, and apply to the Taiyang acupoint; this is excellent.
Additionally, burn Mujin Zi (Hibiscus Mutabilis Seed) and fumigate the affected area.
Additionally, mix Gaoben (Ligustici Chuanxiong Hort. Rhizoma) and Xin Yi (Magnolia Flower) (each five fen), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) (one qian), and Xin Yi (Magnolia Flower) (eight fen) into fine powder. Roll four strips of paper tightly, ignite, and fumigate the nose with the smoke. Fumigate twice daily for immediate effect.
Additionally, take Gujing Cao (Eriocauli Flos) (one liang, ground into powder), mix with wheat flour paste.
Additionally, mix Gujing Cao (Eriocauli Flos) powder, Tong Lv (Chalcitis), and Xiao Shi (Niter) (each one qian, five li respectively), and insufflate into the nose depending on the side.
Additionally, use Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (five qian), Wan Can Sha (Bombycis Batryticatus), and Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) (quantity corresponding to the patient's age in years), add five bowls of water. Place in a clay pot, seal the mouth with thick paper leaving only a coin-sized hole in the center. Fumigate the painful area with the medicinal vapor once daily. Even for long-standing cases, three to five sessions will prevent recurrence permanently.
Additionally, take fresh Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus) stems and leaves (use roots if stems/leaves are unavailable), extract natural juice (two bowls), Chen Jiu (Aged Wine) (one bowl), and Yan Shi (Salt) (eight fen). Boil into a paste. Apply thoroughly and rub vigorously until hot for effectiveness. This formula cures all types of Head Wind characterized by pulling/twitching pain.
