Pepper (one grain for a one-year-old, crushed) and one large crucian carp (with head, tail bones, and intestines removed). The crushed pepper powder is placed inside the fish and pounded into a thick paste. Apply to the umbilicus. Highly effective.
Boil a handful of grass in water to soak the soles of both feet. Alternatively, boil three to four catties of *Firmiana simplex* leaves (Wutong Ye) in water to wash the feet. Alternatively, take one grain of Croton seed (Badou), Mung bean, and one grain of Pepper, wrap in cloth, and crush. Pound two red dates into pills and apply to the umbilicus. Dysentery will cease immediately. Remove the medicine once symptoms stop. Alternatively, use five qian of Sichuan peppercorn (Chuanjiao), one fen of Musk (Shexiang), and one large date (pitted and peeled). Sprinkle the powdered herbs onto the date, insert into the navel, and cover with any type of plaster as desired.
Freshly delivered fetal stool (dried on a tile to one qian), Realgar (Xionghuang, 4 fen), and Plum blossom Borneol (Meihua Bingpian, 5 li) are ground into an extremely fine powder. Mix with water and apply to the corner of the nail (or horn). Whether it is bloody or non-bloody dysentery, or critical cases of Anorexic Dysentery (Jinkou Li), this is miraculous.
Twenty-four green onions with roots (do not touch water; wipe mud off with cloth), twelve taels of true sesame oil, and four taels of Lead powder (Qianfen). Fry the onions in the oil, remove the dregs, add lead powder to form a plaster. Spread on oiled paper and apply to the umbilicus. Change once a week. Three applications result in complete recovery. Contraindicated for pregnant women. Alternatively, equal parts of Evodia fruit (Wuzhuyu), Coptis rhizome (Huanglian), and Fragrant herb (Xiang - likely missing character like Xiangfu) are ground into fine powder and applied to the umbilicus.
Pomegranate peel and old wall soil with a small amount of Alum (Mingfan) are decocted strongly for fumigation and washing. Then, stir-fried and finely powdered Chinese gallnut (Wubeizi) is applied to lift and support the sinking qi.
Three qian of Chinese gallnut (Wubeizi, ground) and a piece of White alum (Baifan) are decocted in water for washing. Powder can also be taken sparingly and applied around the anus. Alternatively, Chinese gallnut powder is placed on a hot shoe sole and ironed. Alternatively, floating duckweed (Fupingcao) after frost is dried on a new tile, ground into powder, and ironed on a hot shoe sole.
One field snail is crushed with a little Musk (Shexiang) and applied to the umbilicus to guide heat downward, which is effective. Alternatively, five qian of Asarum (Xixin), tooth soap (Yazao), three green onions, half a wine yeast cake, and one large field snail are mashed into a paste and applied to the umbilicus. Remove when dry for natural recovery. Alternatively, slice one large fresh Aconite root (Fuzi), place it on a newly forged stone, sprinkle with water to heat it up, then take the warm Aconite slice and apply to the umbilicus. Reheat when cool until cured. Alternatively, equal parts of Realgar (Xionghuang), Croton seed (Badou), Cinnabar (Zhusha), Castor seed (Bimazi), and Musk (Shexiang) are ground into fine powder, mixed with honey to make pills. Store well without letting air escape. Apply to the glabella (between eyebrows) and cover with a plaster. After burning one incense stick's time, abdominal sounds will occur naturally, and appetite will return. Remove the medicine. This method is 100% effective and can be prepared in advance to help others. Alternatively, cucumber vine (more effective if after frost) is burned to retain its nature, mixed with sesame oil, and applied to the umbilicus. Alternatively, Evodia fruit (Wuzhuyu) mixed with vinegar is applied to the soles of both feet for extreme effectiveness (this is also a method to guide heat downward). Alternatively, six seeds of Momordica charantia (Mubiezi) are divided into two portions. Make dough into two half-pies. Use half a pie as one dose, insert into a shoe, and cover the patient's umbilicus while hot. Replace with another half-hot pie after one hour. The patient will desire food. Alternatively, equal parts of Atractylodes macrocephala (Cangzhu), Licorice (Gancao), Tangerine peel (Chenpi), and Magnolia bark (Houpo) are made into coarse powder, wrapped in cloth, and placed on the abdomen. Press with cloth to force medicinal qi into the abdomen. When the patient feels relief in the abdomen, place the medicine under the pillow to inhale the medicinal qi. Iron continuously for a day; dysentery gradually stops, and eating resumes. Alternatively, one jin of true sour plum (Wumei) is crushed, decocted in over ten bowls of water, and poured into a bucket. Let the patient sit on the bucket, sealing gaps to prevent steam from escaping, forcing hot steam upward toward the anus. Wash with warm water if cooled. The patient will fall asleep. Support them to lie down comfortably until they wake. Feed half a cup of rice soup, then eat again shortly after. Do not overeat; increase gradually. For children, halve the Wumei dosage. Heat a hammer (or brick/stone) red, place in a clay basin, quench with good vinegar, and let the patient inhale the fumes several times a day. Highly effective. [Text fragment] Boil until yellow, grind into powder, mix with lard from the twelfth lunar month, pound thoroughly to make pills. Wrap in cotton, size of a date, and insert into the lower orifice (anus). For patients, cure within three applications.
