Wherever a boil arises in the hollow area below the eye, discharging pus and clear fluid that does not dry up, eventually forming a fistula over time, and when various medicines fail to respond: Take a persimmon cake (Shi Bing), peel off the skin, take the flesh, pound it into a paste. Use continuously for ten days to achieve complete recovery.
Powdered Gallic Nut (Wubeizi) mixed with honey applied to the eyelid will cause the inverted eyelashes to rise naturally. Another method is to pluck out the trichiasis eyelashes (Quan Mao), dripping louse blood several times until cured.
Another prescription: One Semen Momordicae Chantarioidis (Mubiezi) (shelled), pounded into a paste, wrapped in cotton, and inserted into the nostril. For the left eye, insert into the right nostril; for the right eye, insert into the left nostril. After one or two nights, the inverted eyelashes will naturally discharge. (If cutting/opening does not cure it, continue treatment.)
Use eel blood, dried and applied as drops.
Decoct apricot leaves (Xing Ye) to wash the eyes. Alternatively, apply Verdigris (Tonglv) and Alum (Danfan) (optionally adding realgar Ming Xionghuang) on the rim of a bowl. Roll toothache root (Yazao), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Mint (Bohe), and Mugwort leaf (Ai Ye) into a stick, ignite it, and fumigate the eyes so that the yellow medicinal powder rises and is applied to the affected area.
Rub mint leaves (Bohe Ye) to extract juice and drip into the eyes.
Grind ink well, dip a new brush, and apply dots onto the pupil of the eye.
Alternatively, place a small amount of salt and fermented soybeans (Chi) in water, and immerse the closed eyes.
Decoct barley juice and drip into the eyes to expel foreign bodies; or decoct water to wash the eyes.
Another method: Use larvae of Blaps orientalis (Qicao Chong) (the gray-white worms found in manure heaps), pound into a paste, and apply to the lesion. (This also treats bamboo or wood splinters entering the eye.)
Extract juice from Arnebia euchroma (Zicao), drip into the eyes, and symptoms will immediately subside.
Take one thick stem of Achyranthes bidentata (Niuxi), about two cun long. The patient should chew it thoroughly themselves. (For a diseased left eye, chew on the right side of the mouth; for the right eye, chew on the left side.) Spit it out, rub it on both corners of the eyes. Tears will flow profusely, and within a short while, sand and mud will wrap the medicine and all foreign matter will be expelled. Even if swelling and pain are severe and vision seems threatened, immediate efficacy is guaranteed.
Drip fresh lotus root juice into the eyes to expel foreign bodies naturally. (Or use a large lotus root, wash and pound it, wrap in cotton, and drip the extracted juice into the eyes.)
Human fingernails ground thickly with saliva, drop into the eyes; within an instant, a gentle wipe will remove the object.
Pound Chinese cabbage (Baicai) rotten, wrap in a cloth, drip two or three drops of juice, and the foreign body will emerge.
Another method: Fine mud juice from a lotus pond, drip into the eyes to eliminate symptoms.
Another method: Mustard green juice (Jiecai) or juice from mustard greens leaves, drip into the eyes.
Another method: When all other medicines fail and the eyes are severely red, swollen, and painful, take one cup of boiling water, add a small amount of table salt (Yan) and alum (Mingfan). Let it steep in the water for a moment, and the flying silk/thread will naturally fall into the water.
Also, grind good ink thickly, dip a new brush, and apply to the inner corner of the eye. Close the eyes for a moment, then gently wipe with hand to remove it. (Foreign objects entering the eye can also be treated, and nebulae can be dispersed. Jingmo (Beijing Ink) can also be used to dot the eyes, and a rush light core (Dengcao) can be used to拨 away the object.)
