Whenever adults, after suffering from febrile diseases, or children, after recovering from smallpox/variolous diseases, have fire-toxins flowing into the Stomach Meridian, leading to this condition. The condition is severe and can penetrate through the nose, being fatal within one or two days. Hence it is named "Zouma" (Running Horse), indicating its rapid progression. This condition has five types that are untreatable:
Gums rotting like sinews are untreatable; white flesh floating indicates stomach rot, which is untreatable; teeth falling out, cheeks perforating, and unbearable nasal odor are untreatable.
Such is the peril, with life hanging in the balance for an instant. Urgently use Raw Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati (San Huang, 3 qian), Fructus Caryophylli (Dingxiang, 10 grains), and Cotyledon of Mung Bean (Lü Dou, 2 hearts), which is most miraculous. Still treat according to the Jinbian San (Golden Whip Powder) described below, so that perhaps five out of ten can be saved. It is also known as Jinbian San. Alum (Lv Fan, 5 liang), White [Alum/Chalk] (Bai, 3 liang), Realgar (Ming Xiong, 2 liang), Real Moschus (Shexiang), and Plum-blossom Borneol (Meihua Bingpian, each 1 qian). First, use a silver needle to pick and scrape away the necrotic tissue, then grind the medicine into powder and apply it to the affected area. Expelling toxic blood and foul saliva allows for recovery. It is also known as Chishuang San. Specifically treats Zouma Yagan. Use Red Arsenic (Hong Pi, one grain the size of a soybean), wrap it securely, place it on a tile, and roast over charcoal fire until the date pit is dry and smoke ceases. Take it out, cover with a bowl, add Borneol (Bingpian, 1 fen), grind into powder. Clean the affected area and insufflate the powder. The effect is excellent. For long-standing ulcers, flesh regeneration is also rapid. Another method: Apply [Xu] (unclear reference). Another method: Burn old Southern Jujube pits (Nanzao He) to ash, grind into powder, and sprinkle. Another method: Cat feces from roofs, exposed to frost, snow, and rain, roasted to ash, ground finely. Place on the ground to cool, add a little Borneol (Bingpian), mix, and insufflate. Even if it spreads to the throat, it can be treated.
Another method: Use Raw Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Sheng Fuzi, 1 qian), Raw Rhizoma Pinelliae (Sheng Banxia, 2 qian), add White Scallion Stem (Congbai), mash together, and bind to the sole of the foot.
Renzhong Bai San (Human Urine Deposit Powder). Treats Zouma Yagan in men, women, and children of all ages. (Also treats sore throat with pain and ulceration, effective.) Human Urine Deposit (Ren Zhong Bai), Catechu (Ercha), Real Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai), Real Borax (Pengsha, each 1 qian), Mint Flower (Bohehua), Borneol (Bingpian, 2 fen), grind together into extremely fine powder. (As fine as flour, no residue when placed on the tongue). Sprinkle on the lesion. Pearl (Zhenzhu, 5 fen), the effect is even faster.
