The root of *Iris tectorum* (Shi Gan, Belamcanda Rhizome; specifically the variety with yellow flowers blooming in autumn) is washed clean and pounded into a paste. It is decocted with sweet wine to extract the juice. Hold the juice in the mouth and gargle three to five times, then replace with fresh juice and continue gargling. This can eliminate the root cause of the disease.
For throat injury caused by smoke pipes resulting in incessant bleeding: Remove the outer black skin from longan seeds, retaining only the inner kernels. Roast them and pound them into an extremely fine powder. Observe the injured area in the throat.
On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month at noon, remain silent on the east side of a leek field and collect earthworm castings for storage. They should be round like broken pearls and form granular clumps, which is ideal. When encountering fish [Note: Contextually likely refers to a specific condition or typo in original text, translated literally], take a small amount and rub it on the external skin of the throat to eliminate the issue.
(This condition occurs only among porters.)
Galla Chinensis (Wu Bei Zi), calcined to retain its properties, is ground into a fine powder. Add Litharge (Huang Dan, processed by water flotation). Mix with vinegar and apply externally; it is very effective.
Flower of Impatiens balsamina (Feng Xian Hua), regardless of color, is pounded into large pills. Place them under the armpits. Replace when dry. Change three to four times daily. Within two to three days, the armpit will turn black and sag. Apply water mixed with kiln ash to remove it, permanently eliminating the odor. Alternatively, apply mud made from Long Gu Fu (Fuliang Earth) externally, which is also good. Or boil two chicken eggs until cooked. While still hot, hold one egg under each armpit. Discard them at a three-way intersection when cold, without looking back. Repeat this three times, and the condition will improve. Another method involves using Alum (Fan Shi) ground into powder, placed in a silk bag. No more than ten applications are needed. Alternatively, mix aged vinegar with Duan Shi (calcined iron ore) and apply. Or use one steamed bun, split into two halves, place fine powder of Lead Monoxide (Mi Tuo Seng) inside, and sandwich it under the armpit. Sleep briefly, then discard when cool. If only one armpit has body odor, use just one half to clamp it; this is miraculous.
Additionally, grind Lead Monoxide (Mi Tuo Seng) and Borneol (Chao Nao) (each 4 liang), Calcined White Alum (Ku Bai Fan) (2 liang), and Calomel (Qing Fen) (3 qian) into a fine powder. Frequently rub both armpits with this powder. Effects will be seen after half a month.
Take two river snails (Tian Luo). Crack open the shell tip. Insert various medicines into the snail shells. After one night, the snail meat will liquefy. Rub this liquid onto the armpits. The odor will exit through the stool. Bury the remains in soil, as inhaling the smell may cause dizziness. This prescription is extremely effective; do not underestimate it.
Burn the long-stemmed gourd (Chang Bing Hu Lu) to retain its properties, grind into powder, and apply topically. Continue until symptoms resolve.
Use a magnetic blade to scrape off a layer from the nail surface, and apply Calcined Alum (Ku Fan) powder. This is miraculous.
