This condition is mostly caused by excessive consumption of Calomel (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite) and mercury preparations during early-stage Lues Venereum (Syphilis), seeking rapid efficacy, which subsequently leads to the occurrence of this "powder frost toxicity" syndrome. Symptoms include pain throughout the joints of the body, tidal fever in the bones, and qi rebellion causing phlegm stagnation. Consequently, nodules the size of beans form and gradually enlarge; the skin is not red, but there is pain within the flesh. After a long duration, physicians often treat it with formulas for moving phlegm and regulating qi, but these treatments repeatedly fail. Eventually, the lesions ulcerate and exude fluid resembling cotton wadding, at which point the pain becomes even more severe. Initially, it was unknown that this was caused by the accidental ingestion of Calomel and the penetration of toxicity into the bone marrow. The treatment method involves internal administration of Zhongjiu Wan (Nine-Pill Decoction) combined with Jingsong Wan (Golden Centipede Pill), along with formulas for supporting the interior and expelling pus. Cases where pus forms are curable, while those without pus formation are difficult to treat. After pus formation, apply Jiedu Gao (Detoxification Plaster). Insert medicinal threads three times. Wait for the pus to dry, remove the wadding-like masses, wash clean with Xunxi Tang (Fumigation and Washing Decoction), and finally apply Jiawei Tianran San (Modified Natural Powder) to complete the healing.
This condition presents with reddish swelling of the skin and flesh, blistering with severe pain. Upon rupture, clear fluid is discharged, and the pain feels like needle pricks, indicating extreme heat. The treatment should involve internal administration of Zhongjiu Wan and Jingsong Wan, combined with Qingre Jiemi Tang (Clear Heat and Release Muscle Decoction) and Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Detoxification Decoction). After taking three doses, add Radix Rheomi Preparata (Dahuang) to promote urination and bowel movement three to five times to eliminate pathogenic heat. Externally, apply Taisui Mo (Tai Sui Ink) to relieve pain. When the moisture has completely dried, sprinkle Tianran San (Natural Powder) and apply Jiedu Gao (Detoxification Plaster) to level the wound surface. Strictly avoid "fa wu" (stimulating foods that may exacerbate disease).
Qingre Jiemi Tang: Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 8 qian), Dalian (8 qian, note: likely a specific local herb or alias, retained as per text), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Nongpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Zhuling (Polyporus), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, each 5 fen), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Dengxin (Junci Medullia, used as a guiding drug). Decoct in water and take continuously for three doses.
Another single prescription: Dahuang (Radix Rheomi Preparata, 1 liang), Beizi (5 qian, note: specific seed/herb, retained as per text). Grind together into a fine powder, mix with egg white, and apply to the affected area.
This condition arises from heat accumulated in the womb during fetal development, leading to the formation of this sore. It may appear on either knee pit or on the scrotum, with unpredictable location. The skin is reddish and swollen; upon rupture, bleeding occurs with severe pain. Wherever water touches, the ulceration spreads. The treatment formula is as follows: Qianfen (Cerussa, 3 qian, calcined until yellow), Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Xuexie (Dracaenae Sangue), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, each 2 liang), Qingfen (Calomel, 3 qian), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 1 fen), Bala (Cera Flava, 2 qian). Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined oil, and apply externally. Strictly avoid stimulating foods.
Another prescription: Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, 3 qian), one pig gallbladder. Apply the bile onto the Huangbai and roast it dry. Repeat the process of applying bile and roasting several times. Finally, grind the treated Huangbai into a powder and apply mixed with an appropriate vehicle to the affected area.
