This sore occurs at the waist where the belt is tied. Initially, it presents with redness and swelling, accompanied by unbearable burning pain. After approximately three days, the skin breaks and exudes fluid but does not form pus; this is an acute condition. The treatment involves internally administering Zhongjiu Wan (Nine-Pill Decoction) to detoxify, and externally applying Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis Powder) to the affected area to relieve pain. The dressing should be changed once it dries. When the redness and swelling subside and heat dissipates, apply Maliang Gao (Hemp-Cooling Ointment) (with one tael of Baijizi [Brassicae Semen Album] powder added to the ointment). To prevent excessive dryness, a few drops of Qingyou (Clear Oil) can be added for adjustment. Healing occurs once the moisture evaporates.
This sore may also appear on the hands or chest, presenting with a purple color and intense itching. The treatment method involves processing Tonglv (Malachite) over five qian, Bashuang (Croton Seed Frost/Resin) five fen, Kufan (Alum) two qian, and Bala (Beeswax) one qian. These are ground into a fine powder, mashed with Hetaoyou (Walnut Oil), mixed evenly, and formed into a large pill. It is wrapped in a sheet of paper, warmed over fire, and applied to the affected area. Prolonged application is advisable. Recovery is indicated when the intense itching ceases and the tissue color returns to normal (no longer dark/black).
This category of disease is divided into five types: Tanliu (Phlegm Nodule), Qiliu (Qi Nodule), Jiu liu (Wine Nodule), Fengliu (Wind Nodule), and Xueliu (Blood Nodule). If a Tanliu ulcerates, the discharge resembles pig brain matter. A Qiliu appears as a floating blister and is not firm. A Xueliu is covered with red lines. A Jiuliu becomes thick and hard when alcohol is consumed, but soft yet firm when not. A Fengliu is hard as stone and experiences unbearable itching when exposed to wind-dampness. Only Tanliu is treatable; the other four nodules are considered incurable. Do not indiscriminately use knives or needles, otherwise, the wound edges may evert and fail to heal, leading to a critical condition. The treatment principle should focus on regulating Qi and resolving phlegm. The prescription is as follows:
Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Fuling (Poria), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Kunbu (Eckloniae Thallus), Haizao (Sargassum Thallus), Haidai (Laminariae Thallus) (each five qian), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (one qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (one qian).
Decoct these ingredients in water and take orally, while simultaneously administering Zhongjiu Wan (Nine-Pill Decoction) and Jin Gong Wan (Golden Centipede Pill). If the lesion has already ulcerated, apply Huarou Gao (Flesh-Dissolving Ointment). Once the tissue turns black, remove the necrotic flesh. Insert medicated threads three times daily. After approximately six to seven days, when all necrotic tissue has been expelled, apply Jiawei Tianran San (Modified Natural Powder) to promote granulation and flatten the wound.
