Insect Bite Sores
Insects such as poplar stingers and tile stingers can sting humans, immediately causing skin swelling and pain, feeling like a fire burn. At this time, applying mashed light soybean paste (Dan Dou Chi) to the affected area will help. If hair-like spines remain in the skin, pain persists; once they are expelled, there is no pain. If the spines have not been expelled and pain continues, wipe the area again until all spines are out for recovery. If light soybean paste is unavailable, washing with vinegar or salt brine is also effective.
*Lit. Cuo Chou Chuang* (Earwig Urine Sores)
When an earwig's urine contacts the human body, it causes small sores resembling millet grains, painful as if bitten by insects, accompanied by aversion to cold and fever. Applying ground rhinoceros horn juice to the affected area will cure it. Alternatively, rub the sore fluid away using ramie fiber, then apply Jin Huang San (Golden Yellow Powder) to stabilize the condition.
Human Bite Wounds
When accidentally bitten during a physical altercation, resulting in broken skin and bleeding, immediately wash the blood away with vinegar. Burn tortoise plastron (Bai Gui Ban) to ash, grind into powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply to the wound for healing. If tortoise plastron is unavailable, turtle shell (Bie Jia) burned to ash is also effective.
Arsenic Poisoning
Whether in adults or children, accidental arsenic poisoning renders most antidotes ineffective; only Di Jiang (Earth Slurry) can save lives. Dig a pit one dou in size in yellow earth, fill it with well water, stir until turbid, and give one bowl to drink. After a short while, give another bowl. Wait until the purple-black discoloration on the whole body dissipates; vomiting will lead to revival. This is highly effective even in winter.
Water-Induced Interdigital Hand Ulcers
People engaged in hard labor who frequently handle water without rest often suffer from dampness and ulceration between the fingers. This is common among lathe turners and dyers. Washing the hands several times with water yields natural results.
Water-Induced Interdigital Foot Ulcers
After prolonged rain and dampness, laborers walking barefoot often develop damp ulcers between the toes, making walking difficult due to pain. Use Mi Tuo Seng (Lead Monoxide), buried with red clay underground to remove its "fire" nature, then grind into fine powder. First, wash the feet with alum water and dry them, then apply this powder. Walking ability returns the next day.
