Dugu Chuang (Solitary Bone Sore)
In adults and children, sores appearing on the cheeks and chin with continuous oozing of fluids are named Dugu Chuang (Solitary Bone Sore). It is suitable to use Baihe San (Lily Powder), formulated with Baihe (Lily Bulb, *Lilium brownii* var. *viridulum*) and Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark, *Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex*), each 1 liang; Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome, *Bletillae Rhizoma*), 3 fen; Bimazi (Castor Seed, *Ricini Semen*), 50 grains; and Qingfen (Calomel, *Hydrargyri Chloridum*), 5 fen.
Grind all ingredients into a fine powder together and apply externally for effective results. If the sore is dry, mix Puxiao (Mirabilite, *Natrii Sulfas*) with water to form a paste/biscuit and apply it as a patch to the affected area.
Shangshui Chuang (Water-Injury Sore)
When skin is punctured by bamboo splinters or wooden sticks and subsequently washed with raw/untreated water, leading to ulceration and pain; or when injured by fish bones or other sharp bones that fail to heal over time. Use Huangdan (Red Lead Oxide, *Minii Oxidum*), Gefen (Clam Shell Powder, *Concha Meretricis et Cyclinae Pulvis*), and Wen Ge (Cockle Shell, *Arcae Concha*) in equal proportions, stir-fry them together until the color changes, and sprinkle the powder onto the wound. The condition will gradually heal.
She Yao Chuang (Snake Bite Sore)
Among various venomous snakes, the Tuhui She (Earth Viper, *Agkistrodon acutus* or similar local viper) is the most toxic. If a person is bitten, immediately take Banbianlian (Half-and-half Herb, *Lobeliae Chinensis Herba*), crush it, and rub it on the wound; relief comes within moments. It can also be decocted and taken orally. Hence, the folk saying goes: "If one knows Half-and-half Herb, one may sleep with venomous snakes all day." Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*) can also be applied externally. If a snake accidentally enters human orifices (such as ears or nose), prick its tail with a needle, and it will exit spontaneously. Only one or two pricks are needed; this is ingenious.
Wugong Ding Chuang (Centipede Sting Sore)
When a person is stung by a centipede, the pain is excruciating, penetrating to the bone, possibly accompanied by whole-body numbness. Immediately take Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*) powder, mix with sesame oil, roll into paper strips, ignite, and smoke the injured area; the pain will cease naturally. Although other prescriptions cannot match the efficacy of this method, moxibustion is also viable. Some people may ingest something touched by a crawling centipede, leading to fatal poisoning. In such cases, using Zijin Ding (Purple Gold Pill, *Zijin Ding*) for inhalation or swallowing yields immediate effects.
Feng Ding Chuang (Bee Sting Sore)
Bee stings are toxic, with the stinger penetrating the flesh; the stinger must be picked out immediately. Subsequently, wash the wound with good yellow rice wine, and it will heal. Otherwise, burning an oil lamp with paper wicks to smoke the affected area, as described previously, is also excellent.
Xiezi Ding (Scorpion Sting)
Scorpions in the north are the most venomous. A single sting causes pain lasting until cockcrow. Medications are often ineffective. Instead, soak a twist of green cloth in sesame oil, insert it into a brush holder (pen tube), press it firmly against the painful spot, and smoke the area. Relief comes shortly after. No other method compares to this.
