[Fox-Thorn Ulcer (Ci Xiong Hu Ci Chuang)]
Fox-thorn ulcers are mostly caused by injuries from bamboo splinters or wooden thorns penetrating the skin of the hands and feet. The pain is unbearable. There are two types: male and female, which should be treated differently. The male type presents as a single lesion, while the female type presents with five to seven lesions. Inside the ulcer, there are chaotic fibrous strands, and on the outside, there are inevitably residual thorns; this is the characteristic feature. The treatment involves applying dry powder made of charcoal ash from mulberry wood mixed with Calomel (Qingfen) directly to the affected area. Pour vinegar over it and change the dressing frequently for immediate effect.
[Scrotal Leakage Ulcer (Bao Lou Chuang)]
This ulcer is caused by damp-heat in the Liver meridian. It manifests as nest-like lesions on the scrotum accompanied by itching. In severe cases, fluid exudes, wetting the underwear. For chronic cases that do not heal, it is appropriate to administer decoctions containing Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Talcum (Huashi), Semen Kochiae (Qianniu), Rheomi Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), and Akebiae Caulis (Mutong) to drain the dampness. Applying Cyprini Carpa Pulvis (Jiyu San) externally is effective.
[Water-Flowing Hemp-Root Ulcer (Shui Liu Ma Gen Chuang)]
This ulcer often occurs under the heel. The area is red, swollen, and ulcerated, containing fleshy filaments inside that resemble hemp roots strand by strand, hence the name. This region is governed by the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, which is characterized by abundant blood and scarce qi. Complications may arise from sexual indiscretion or local contamination, and since the location is inferior, it is difficult to cure. It is suitable to apply Hongfen Shuang (Red Powder Frost) mixed with Boehmeriae Niveae Caulis Ash (Zhuma Gen Hui) as a dry dressing. Prior to application, the area must be steamed and washed to remove necrotic dead flesh and foul odor; otherwise, it may lead to death.
[Fat-Sticky Ulcer (Fei Zhan Chuang)]
Children often develop fat-sticky ulcers on the head, characterized by exposed yellow pus. These are caused by scratching the head with oily hands and are also due to Wind-Heat affecting the Taiyang. They can also result from razor cuts. First, wash the area with water boiled from Sophora japonica branches (Huaitiao). Then, mix Styrax (Yanjiao), Calomel (Qingfen), and Alum (Kufan) into a fine powder, blend with refined oil, and apply topically for miraculous effects.
[Thousand-Day Wart (Qian Ri Chuang)]
Also known as "You" wart or "Huiqi" wart. These lesions resemble fish scales and grow on the hands and feet, commonly called warts. They naturally fall off after a thousand days, hence the name. Rubbing with Chicken Gizzard Membrane (Jijingpi) leads to self-healing. Another method involves moxibustion with Artemisia argyi (Qiai) on the first wart that appears initially; the rest will subsequently fall off and heal.
