Disease: This condition typically arises on the back of the hand, presenting with local redness, swelling, and pain. Internally, it is appropriate to use heat-clearing and detoxifying methods; externally, decoctions should be used to wash the affected area. This disease is often caused by the accumulation of heat-toxin in the Hand-Taiyang, Hand-Yangming, and Hand-Shaoyin meridians (Hand Three Yang Meridians).
[Annotation] This syndrome occurs on the back of the hand and is caused by the accumulation of excessive heat-toxin in the Hand Three Yang Meridians. The clinical presentation resembles a Ding sore (hard, raised nodule), with a high ridge, redness, swelling, and pain. In the initial stage, it is suitable to take Huanglian Xiaodu Yin (Coptis Decoction for Disinfecting Toxins). Externally, mix salt, wine lees, and sesame oil, stir-fry until fragrant, steep in boiling water, and pour the liquid over the affected area to wash it, which will cause the swelling to subside. If the high ridge does not subside, apply Chansu Bing (Toad Venom Cake) and cover it externally with Ba Gao (Ba Ointment) to promote the discharge of necrotic tissue from the ridge. Subsequently, apply Shengji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder) and continue covering with ointment to facilitate wound contraction.

Shouya Fa: This condition arises at the web spaces between fingers. Its etiology stems from the condensation of damp-heat fire in the Spleen meridian. Initially, it appears as small as a millet seed, gradually enlarging to the size of a bean, accompanied by burning heat and pain. Internal and external treatment methods follow those for Ding sores.
[Annotation] This syndrome occurs in the interdigital spaces. Except for the Hegu acupoint on the thumb, any lesion arising in the other finger webs is named Shouya Fa. It originates from the condensation of damp-heat fire in the Spleen meridian. In the early stage, it is red like a millet seed and gradually enlarges to the size of a bean, causing burning heat and pain. If pain persists after ulceration, wait for the pus to drain completely before the pain ceases. Both internal and external treatments follow the protocols in the Ding Zheng (Ding Syndrome) section.

Tiao Ju: This condition arises on the thumb, caused by accumulated heat in the Lung meridian. It initially resembles a millet seed or a plum, appearing bluish-purple and painful. Puncturing it on the sixth day to release pus and blood is auspicious; blackening and spreading necrosis indicates a ominous prognosis of finger amputation.
[Annotation] This syndrome occurs on the thumb and is caused by accumulated heat in the Lung meridian. Initially resembling a millet seed or bean, it gradually swells to the size of a plum, becoming bluish-purple, numb, and experiencing itching and pain that penetrates the heart. Puncture on the sixth day; discharging thick pus and fresh blood is auspicious, while discharging black blood is dangerous. Initially, administer Mailing Dan to induce sweating, followed by Xianfang Huoming Yin. Apply Baidingzi externally. All other internal and external treatments are consistent with those in the Yong Ju Zhong Yang (Carbuncle, Ulcer, and Swelling) and Kui Yang sections. If black necrosis spreads without pain, it is named Duan Zhi (Severed Finger), which is considered a adverse sign (Ni). The treatment method is the same as that for Tuo Ju (Gangrene) of the foot.
