The harm caused by human bites results in injury to healthy flesh. Since teeth belong to the Zang-Fu organs of the Yangming Stomach Meridian (referring to the Stomach and Large Intestine), which are characterized by excess fire and heat, wounds occurring here are prone to rotting as food passes through; furthermore, toxins from roasted and fried foods invade the body. Consequently, swelling occurs at the bite site with abnormal pain, foul-smelling pus, and rotting, with pain penetrating to the heart, indicating infection by tooth toxin. Within one day of the initial bite, the injured area should be soaked and washed with hot urine to clean away dental plaque and blood stasis. A Chan Su Bing (Toad Venom Cake) should then be applied over the bite hole and covered with a plaster. Subsequent discharge of slight pus indicates gradual healing. If this method is not employed initially, resulting in severe swelling, pain, and shiny skin, the area should still be washed with child's urine, dried, and then smoked with smoke from burning coarse paper twists dipped in sesame oil for an extended period to resolve the tooth toxin. A Chan Su Tiao (Toad Venom Strip) is inserted into the wound and covered with a plaster. Once swelling subsides, Yu Hong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) is applied to promote tissue regeneration and wound closure. Any concurrent complications are treated according to their specific symptoms.

Yu Hong Gao (See Zhong Yang Men / Swollen Ulcer Section)
Cong Bai Gan Cao Tang (Scallion and Licorice Decoction)
Cong Bai Gan Cao Tang easily treats pain and foul odor associated with bite injuries.
Frequent washing with this decoction daily fully eliminates blood stasis and reduces swelling.
It treats bite injuries causing swelling, pain, dripping pus and blood, foul odor, and rotting.
Use two liang of Cong Bai (Scallion White), five qian of Fen Cao (Licorice Root), and three bowls of water. Decoct until two bowls remain. Wash the injured area clean of necrotic pus and blood daily, then apply Yu Hong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) and cover with black plaster for gradual healing.
Mad dogs are infected by improper Qi (Evil Qi) acquired from sleeping outdoors morning and night. Thus, the Heart receives the toxin, manifesting as protruding tongue; the Liver receives it, manifesting as blurred vision; the Spleen receives it, manifesting as drooling; the Lung receives it, manifesting as inability to vocalize; the Kidney receives it, manifesting as dragging tail. When these five Zang organs are poisoned, the dog becomes mad, having inherited Yin-Yang肃杀 (killing/severe) Qi. Therefore, such bites inevitably injure humans. Immediately after being bitten, administer Jiu Sheng San (Life-Saving Powder). Blood clots will appear in the urine. Avoid all strong flavors, sesame products, and Vigna angularis (Adzuki beans); they must not be seen or consumed. Peace returns after one hundred days. If treatment is delayed, the toxin becomes severe, urination becomes difficult, and the toxin attacks the Zang-Fu organs. Over time, symptoms solidify: abdominal distension and urgency, barking voice, and white sclera exposure indicate incurable conditions. Those who recover but later violate dietary restrictions may die upon re-exposure.
Jiu Sheng San (Life-Saving Powder)
Jiu Sheng San uses seven Mylabris phalerata (Seven-spotted Blister Beetle) bodies, including wings and legs.
One qian of Hang Fen (Kaolin/Alum powder) is mixed with them into powder.
Taken orally with wine on an empty stomach, its efficacy is high.
For mad dog bites, use seven fresh Mylabris phalerata (Mylabris), removing heads, wings, and legs. Mix with one qian of Hang Fen (Kaolin/Alum powder) and grind into powder. Take orally with warm yellow wine on an empty stomach. After approximately one shi (two hours), bloody flakes and white fatty substances (evil matter) will pass in urine. If dysuria occurs, drink Gan Cao Tang (Licorice Decoction) to relieve discomfort. If toxin remains unexhausted, take another dose the next morning. Healing is confirmed when urine becomes clear.
Another prescription: Effective for mad dog bites. The patient must have a single red hair on the vertex. Pluck it out immediately. Apply Zhui Feng Ru Sheng San (Wind-Chasing Supreme Holy Powder) to the wound to draw out toxic vapors, and concurrently administer Jiu Sheng San (Life-Saving Powder).
Zhui Feng Ru Sheng San (Wind-Chasing Supreme Holy Powder)
Zhui Feng Ru Sheng San contains Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root), Chuan Wu Tou (Aconitum carmichaelii), Xiong (Borneol), and Bo He (Mentha).
Bai Zhi (Angelica Dahurica), Xi Xin (Asarum), Cang Zhu (Atractylodes), etc., are added.
With Xiong Huang (Realgar), the efficacy is infinite.
For mad dog bites, apply immediately to extract the toxin.
Xi Xin (Asarum) (1 liang each), Fang Feng (Saposhnikovia Root) (1 liang each), Chuan Wu (Aconitum carmichaelii) (1 liang each), Bo He (Mentha) (1 liang each), Cao Wu (Aconitum kusnezoffii) (1 liang each), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum chuanxiong) (1 liang each), Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica) (1 liang each), Cang Zhu (Atractylodes lancea) (1 liang each), Xiong Huang (Realgar) (4 qian).
Grind into powder. Mix with warm wine and apply to the wound. Cover with paper and bandage. Change twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients bitten by mad dogs must reside quietly.
Avoid all sesame, adzuki beans, and heavy meats.
Refrain from seeing these items for one hundred days.
This ensures the patient enjoys health for many years.
