Blood Arrow (Xuejian) arises from excessive fire in the Heart Meridian, forcing blood to exit through the hair follicles; Blood Nevus (Xuemi) results from the stagnation of anger-fire in the Liver Meridian. Its initial appearance is red like a mole, gradually enlarging to the size of a bean, and bleeding occurs upon wiping.
To treat Blood Arrow, apply Taohua San (Peach Blossom Powder) mixed with cool water, or apply gold ink; the bleeding will stop spontaneously. For Blood Nevus, Bing Si San (Ice Snail Powder) must be used to cauterize and remove the lesion, followed by the application of Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder); healing occurs when new skin grows. In severe cases, internal administration of Liangxue Dihuang Tang (Cooling Blood Rehmannia Decoction) is required, along with dietary restrictions on rich flavors for recovery.
Liangxue Dihuang Tang (Cooling Blood Rehmannia Decoction)
Liangxue Dihuang Tang consists of Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Gancao (Licorice Root), and Shanzhi (Gardenia Fruit). Adding Xuanshen (Scrophularia Root) enhances efficacy, ensuring safety against spontaneous bleeding.
This formula treats Blood Arrow and Blood Nevus caused by intense internal heat forcing reckless blood flow, where bleeding is profuse.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Shanzhi (Gardeniae Fructus), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (equal parts).
Preparation: Use two bowls of water, decoct until reduced to 80%, and administer according to the location of the disease.

Eczema of the Palm (Ezhangfeng) is caused by heat-fire and dryness of blood in the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian and Stomach Meridian, combined with external cold condensation, leading to rough and dry skin; alternatively, residual toxins from infectious sores (such as syphilis) can also cause this condition. Initially presenting as red spots and white dots, it eventually leads to persistent dryness, suppuration, and cracking of the skin. Fumigation and washing with Er Fan Tang (Two Alum Decoction) leads to cure.
Er Fan Tang (Two Alum Decoction)
Er Fan Tang contains Bai Fan (Alumen) and Zao Fan (Ferrum Sulfate), along with Ercha (Catechu) and Baiye (Cupressi Cacumen). Fumigation first, then washing, utilizing smoke exposure makes stubborn Ezhangfeng easy to cure.
This decoction is suitable for fumigation and washing for Ezhangfeng characterized by dry, suppurative, cracked, and painful skin. It is not recommended for mild cases but becomes more effective as severity increases.
Ingredients: Bai Fan (Alumen), Zao Fan (Ferrum Sulfate) (4 liang each), Ercha (Catechu) (5 qian), Baiye (Cupressi Cacumen) (0.5 jin).
Preparation: Use ten bowls of water, boil the four ingredients together several times until boiling, and set aside. First, apply Tung oil (Verniciae Folium Oil) to the affected area. Dip paper twists in Tung oil, ignite them, and fumigate the lesion with the smoke. After a while, pour the hot decoction into a clean bucket. Place hands over the bucket, cover with cloth to trap the steam, and fumigate without letting gas escape. Once slightly warm, pour into a basin and wash/soak for an extended period; one treatment may suffice. Avoid contact with raw water for seven days to prevent recurrence permanently.
