Golden Wounds (Metal Injuries) refer to trauma caused by blades or knives, or injuries from the sharp edges of porcelain. Superficial injuries manifest only as broken skin and bleeding; deep injuries result in severed tendons and unceasing spurting blood. For broken skin, apply Taohua San (Peach Blossom Powder), and the bleeding will stop naturally; for severed tendons, apply Rusheng Jindao San (Rusheng Golden Knife Powder) and bandage firmly. If bleeding resumes after stopping, this condition requires urgent application of Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) to the wound site. This ointment promotes flesh regeneration. Once tendons, bones, and flesh are repaired and healed, the patient's complexion will necessarily appear sallow. Externally, avoid wind and cold; internally, avoid cold foods. Ultimately, safety can be ensured. In cases of excessive blood loss, supplementation with Dushen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction) and Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) is essential; no external treatment methods remain applicable.
Rusheng Jindao San (Rusheng Golden Knife Powder)
Rusheng Jindao San consists of Er Fan (Two Alum Powders) and Song Xiang (Pinus Rosin) fine powder, added with Ren Shen (Ginseng).
Knife wounds break muscles and cause bleeding; applying this powder ensures easy efficacy.
Treats injuries from blades where skin is broken, tendons are severed, and blood flows incessantly.
Use seven taels of pure fine Pinus Rosin (Song Xiang), one tael and five qian each of Calcined Alum (Ku Fan) and Raw Alum (Sheng Fan). Grind together into an extremely fine powder, store tightly sealed in a jar, and sprinkle on the wound. Cover with paper and bind with silk cloth. Three to four days after hemostasis, pain and suppuration will inevitably occur. Switch to applying Shengji San (Flesh-Generating Powder), three times daily, until pain ceases. Thereafter, wash daily with Scallion Water (Cong Tang), switch to applying Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) to promote flesh growth. Avoiding wind is crucial.
Taohua San (Peach Blossom Powder)
Taohua San (Peach Blossom Powder) best treats metal injuries; its efficacy in stopping bleeding and resolving stasis is immeasurable.
Stir-fried Da Huang (Rhubarb) with Duan Shi (Calcined Alumen), applying it once causes no harm.
Treats persistent bleeding from metal injuries.
Use half a sheng of Calcined Alumen (Duan Shi) stir-fried with one tael and five qian of sliced Da Huang (Rhubarb) until the alumen turns red. Remove the rhubarb, sieve into a fine powder, and sprinkle on the injury. Cover with paper and bind with silk. After bleeding stops, wash clean with Scallion Water, switch to applying Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) to promote muscle growth and convergence. Strictly avoid dietary indulgences and sexual activity.
Dushen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction) (See Trauma Section)
Bazhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) (See Ulcer Section)
Stick Wounds (Beating Injuries) are ailments where healthy flesh is damaged, categorized by whether the skin is broken or intact, and by the severity of the punishment (standard vs. torture). For wounds where muscles are already broken, apply Qingliang Niantong Gao (Cooling Pain-Numbing Ointment) immediately after beating; pain and swelling will subside instantly. For intact skin with internal blood stasis attacking inward, puncture with a needle to release accumulated blood, then administer Dacheng Tang (Great Achievement Decoction) to purge bowels; self-healing occurs upon bowel movement. If the injured area has become necrotic and painful, apply Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment); necrosis will naturally resolve and new tissue will grow. When enduring humiliating or heavy punishments, one should pre-administer Tie Bushan Wan (Iron Shirt Pill) to preserve life and body.
Tie Bushan Wan (Iron Shirt Pill)
Tie Bushan Wan (Iron Shirt Pill) contains Ru Xiang (Frankincense), Mo Yao (Myrrh), Dang Gui (Angelica), Di Long (Earthworm), Su Mu (Sappanwood), and Zi Ran Tong (Natural Copper).
Adding Mu Bie Zi (Momordica Seed) and Wu Ming Yi (Hematite), it saves lives from severe stick beatings.
Treats unavoidable heavy punishment due to unforeseen circumstances. Pre-administration ensures painless endurance and life preservation.
Zi Ran Tong (Natural Copper, red variety, soaked in vinegar seven times), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis, wine-washed, pounded into paste), Wu Ming Yi (Hematite, washed free of soil), Mu Bie Zi (Momordica charantia seed, shell rubbed with sesame oil, roasted in ashes for meat), Ru Xiang (Frankincense), Mo Yao (Myrrh), Di Long (Pheretima, earthworm, cleaned and dried), Su Mu (Sappanwood).
The above eight herbs are ground into fine powder in equal parts, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of chicken heads. Take three pills per dose, swallowed with warm water beforehand. Even without punishment, it ensures safety.
Sanyu Niantong Gao (Blood-Dispersing Pain-Numbing Ointment)
Sanyu Niantong Gao (Blood-Dispersing Pain-Numbing Ointment) is rare; Sesame Oil, Calcined Alumen, and water are combined.
Added Zhang Bing (Musk Deer Ice/Musk substitute) and Jinhuang San (Golden Yellow Powder), stick wounds heal with smiles.
Treats post-beating skin and muscle damage, presenting as red, purple, or blue spots, with heavy swelling and pain.
Use one liang of Ruyi Jinhuang San (Ruyi Golden Yellow Powder) from the Swelling Ulcer section, add three qian of Zhang Bing (Musk), and grind evenly. Mix one sheng of white Calcined Alumen (Duan Shi) with two bowls of water until uniform. Wait about one hour, then pour off the clear water from the top of the ash residue into the bowl. Add sesame oil in equal proportion, mix well, and stir vigorously with a bamboo chopstick for one hundred turns until it forms a thick paste. Adjust the consistency of the previous powders appropriately. Apply directly to bloody wounds without washing with water; cover with paper and bind with cloth. In summer, remove after one day; in winter, after two days. Wash thoroughly with Scallion Water, reapply. Pain stops, swelling subsides, and cyanosis fades. For severe injuries, additionally apply Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Ointment) to close the wound.
Another Prescription
After stick punishment, if flesh is not broken but blood stasis causes pain with no outlet,
puncture with a needle to release pus and blood, allowing the patient to walk freely.
Dacheng Tang (Great Achievement Decoction) (See Trauma Section)
Treats internal attack of blood stasis after beating, characterized by abdominal distension, nausea, and constipation. Administer this decoction.
Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder) (See Chancre Section)
Treats stick wounds where flesh has grown level but epidermis has not regenerated. Application leads to cure.
