Whenever injured by the venom of an earthworm, eyebrows and hair all fall out, resembling leprosy (Leprosy), except for the abnormality of hearing earthworms chirping inside the body at night. It is advisable to frequently wash with saline solution (Salt Water Decoction).
If the scrotum swells like blisters, duck blood (Duck Blood) can also be applied, or the affected area can be held in a duck's mouth for a short while, after which the swelling will subside.
For this type of injury, take a rooster, hang it upside down for a short time, dip fingers in the saliva from the rooster's mouth, and apply it to the wound; the pain will stop immediately. Alternatively, catch a spider and place it on the bite site. Wait until the spider has absorbed the venom and becomes motionless, then place it in water to spit out the venom and revive it, before releasing the spider. For severe injuries, drink the hot blood of a raw rooster internally.
Scorpions are divided into male and female types. A male scorpion sting causes pain localized in one area, whereas a female scorpion sting causes pain radiating throughout the body. The prescription uses one large snail, crushed and applied topically. The pain can be instantly relieved by applying Vitriol (Chalfan, Alum). This is the primary remedy for scorpion stings.
(Also known as "Shafa".)
In streams and ravines, there is a "Shagong" insect (Archaeognatha/Sandfish) that often holds sand in its mouth and shoots it at people's shadows. If poisoned by this insect, the illness resembles malaria (Malaria) or cold damage (Cold Damage), with sores clustering in one area, distinct from ordinary sores. Take the medicine warm at scheduled intervals and repeat after some time. Externally, use one large centipede, roasted and ground into powder, mixed with vinegar for application.
(Also known as "Duojiao Chong", commonly called "Suoyi Chong".)
This insect hides in wall crevices and sprays urine on people, causing skin swelling, pain, and blistering. The lesions resemble cornels (Cornel Fruit), with white pus in the center, or initially appear like millet grains, gradually enlarging to the size of beans. Applying dog feces (Gou Shi) to them, or applying Rhubarb Powder (Dahuang Mo) is also effective.
Spider bites cause sores. Apply a paste made of ginger juice (Jiang Zhi) and lead powder (Hufen), or rub with refined oil and salt. Internally, drink sheep milk (Yang Ru). Materia Medica states: Spider bites cause the whole body to grow silk-like threads; only drinking sheep milk can detoxify this.
(Also known as "Flower Spider".)
"Tianshe" refers to the flower spider in grass. A human bitten by it is no different from being bitten by a venomous snake. If exposed to dew afterwards, the skin appears like vitiligo or leprosy but is not exactly either. It is suitable to slowly drink a decoction of Gentian Root (Qinjiao). Externally, applying a mixture of Realgar (Xionghuang) and Alum (Baifan) ground into powder is very effective. Alternatively, crushing Xanthium Herb (Canger Cao) to extract juice for internal consumption and external application is also effective.
For this type of injury, dry application of earthworm soil (Qiuyin Ni) or rubbing the painful area with hearth-earth (Zaoxin Tu) mixed with vinegar is excellent. Additionally, chewing licorice root (Gancao) finely and applying it topically is also effective.
