Pig bites resulting in sores can be treated by applying a cake made of refined pine resin (Pinus massoniana resin) to the affected area. Alternatively, tortoise shell (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum), calcined until carbonized but retaining its medicinal properties, is ground into powder and mixed with sesame oil for topical application.
The wound should be washed with decoction of Mentha haplocalyx (Bohe). Powdered feces of male rat (Mus musculus faeces) mixed with rapeseed oil is applied externally.
Rat bites resulting in sores are treated with cat hair (Felis catus hair) calcined until carbonized, mixed with a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang), and applied externally with sesame oil.
For any snakebite, immediately puncture the wound with a needle to allow bleeding, and tie both ends of the wound tightly with a rope to prevent toxic qi from attacking internally and spreading through the meridians. Equal parts of Trogopteri Feces (Wulingzhi) and Realgar (Xionghuang) are ground into powder and taken orally with wine, two qian. Externally, this powder is also applied, leaving a central hole to allow the discharge of toxic qi. Alternatively, Sanqi (Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma) is crushed and applied to the wound; the toxicity will dissipate. Once the toxicity is cleared and swelling subsides, applying Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi) powder will lead to recovery.
First, for chronic non-healing snakebites with spreading toxic qi, first clean the area with pure water. Apply a mixture of Baizhi powder, Alum (Danfan), and a small amount of Shexiang evenly to the wound. After a while, foul fluid will gush out, and pain will cease. Apply daily; recovery occurs within one month.
Second, if teeth break off in the flesh causing severe pain, do not let others know. Cover the wound with Nymphoides peltata (Xingcai, also known as Weicao) and bind it with materials; the broken teeth will naturally emerge.
Third, if a snake enters the seven orifices such as ears or nose, drip blood from the tail of a sow into the orifice to expel the snake. Internally, take a powder of Xionghuang and Cinnabar (Zhusha) mixed and administered with Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) decoction, or consume garlic and alcohol to resolve internal toxicity.
Fourth, if a snake coils around a person's foot, urinating on it resolves the situation; if coiled around the abdomen, pouring hot water over it also resolves it.
Fifth, for mountain dwellers bitten by snakes who lack medicine in haste, urgently wash the wound with urine. Moxibustion (Ai Jiu) of several moxa cones is most effective. Alternatively, crushing garlic and applying it as a poultice is also excellent.
Snakebites, whether on the feet, head/face, or torso, may cause feet to swell like a bucket, face like a plate, or abdomen like a basket. If not rescued within three days, the toxic qi... The primary treatment should be detoxification. Use Qudu San.
