Ren Shen (Codonopsis Radix), Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Zao Ren (Semen Ziziphi Spinosae), Bei Wu Wei (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis), Yi Zhi (Fructus Alpiniae Officinarum), Su Zi (Fructus Perillae), Bai Jie Zi (Semen Sinapis Albae, one qian each for Ren Shen, Bei Wu Wei, Su Zi, Bai Jie Zi; three qian for Bai Shao and Zao Ren; five fen for Yi Zhi). Decoct with water and take orally.
After taking two doses, administer Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill).
If dampness is injured in autumn, using Wu Mei (Fructus Mume) and Mi Qiao (Pericarpium Papaveris) will definitely be ineffective. [Prescription:] Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Zhi Ke (Fructus Aurantii), Jie Geng (Radix Platycodonis), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis) (equal parts). Decoct with water and take orally.
After three doses, the condition will stabilize. Winter coughs are all caused by dampness injury in autumn; how can one rigidly adhere to the concept of cold invasion?
The syndrome of lung cough is fundamentally due to lung deficiency, so tonifying the lung is obvious. Why also tonify the kidney? It is unknown that the qi of the lung meridian must return to the kidney during night sleep. If the lung meridian is damaged by heart fire, it must seek help from its "child" (kidney). If the child's strength is insufficient, how can it repay its "mother" (lung)? [Prescription:] Shu Di (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), Shan Yu (Fructus Corni), Mai Dong (Radix Ophiopogonis), Yuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae), Su Zi (Fructus Perillae), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis), Niu Xi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae).
To treat chronic cough, regardless of age, it is miraculously effective.

Grind together into powder, make pills with honey, size of a cherry, wrap in clean cotton, and hold in mouth to dissolve slowly. For consumption cough without hemoptysis and rapid pulse, this can be used...
Ren Shen (Radix Codonopsis/Panax Ginseng), Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Xi Cha (Fine Tea) (one qian each).
These three ingredients total three qian. Decoct with water for a few boils, chew and swallow both liquid and dregs. One or two doses bring immediate effect; no need for three doses.
The stagnation of phlegm is actually the stagnation of qi. If one does not tonify qi but only removes phlegm, it is unlikely that phlegm removal will lead to disease resolution. [Prescription:] Ren Shen (Radix Codonopsis/Panax Ginseng), Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos), Chen Pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), Bai Jie Zi (Semen Sinapis Albae), Hua Fen (Radix Trichosanthis), Su Zi (Fructus Perillae)...
