Use Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong, 杜仲) soaked thoroughly in wine, then stir-fried until dry; mix with non-ashy wine for administration.
Take 50–60 grains of aged Fructus Evodiae (Chuzhuyu, 陈茱萸), add one large cup of water, decoct to obtain the juice, remove the dregs, add Sanqian Pingwei San (Three-Qian Stomach-Strengthening Powder) [3 qian], decoct again until hot, and take orally.
Consume three large bowls of white winter melon daily, and the condition will be cured.
Take 10–20 seeds of Firmum Semens Gleditsiae Sinensis (Wutongzi, 梧桐子), grind into fine powder, add a small amount of vinegar, and take orally; once the phlegm is expelled, health will return spontaneously.
Alternatively, use Zhangdai San (Curtain-Belt Powder), which consists solely of Alum (Baifan, 白矾), though its efficacy may not be entirely consistent. An old physician from Nanpu taught using Duck-Bill Chalcanthite (Yazui Danfan, 鸭嘴胆矾), ground into fine powder, mixed with strong vinegar, and administered via gavage.
For treating eye cataracts (Yanzhang, 眼障), take a small amount of Bear Bile (Xiongdan, 熊胆), slightly dilute with clean water, thoroughly remove any membrane fragments and dust, add 1–2 pieces of Borneol (Bingnao, 冰脑); if itching occurs, add a small amount of Ginger Powder (Shengjiangfen, 生姜粉).
Huo Xiang (Agastache Herba, 藿香) (2 qian) Zi Su (Perilla Folium, 紫苏) (0.5 qian) Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 苍术) (0.2 qian) Chi Ling (Poria Cocos cum Ligno Rubrum, 赤苓) (3 qian) Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 白芷) (1 qian) Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮) (0.5 qian, prepared with ginger) Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix, 桔梗) (1 qian) ... take orally.
Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 大黄) (5 liang, steamed with wine until extremely dark) Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮) (1 liang, all white pith removed) Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 白术) (2 liang, stir-fried with soil) Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix, 前胡) (2 liang) Zhi Shi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, 枳实) (2 liang, bran-fried) Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus, 山楂) (2 liang) Sheng Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Recens, 生甘草) (4 qian) Da Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 大半夏) (2 liang) Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix, 花粉) (2 liang, stir-fried with soil)
Method for preparing Ban Xia: Soak in fresh ginger juice; repeat this process three times using a total of 3 liang of ginger to extract juice; add half a bowl of boiling water to the Pinellia Rhizoma, soak for seven days each time, then remove.
