Use the Blood-Nourishing Decoction (Xueyang Tang):
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, 当归) (1 qian), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Shengdi, 生地) (1 qian), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Rougui, 肉桂) (1 qian), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi, 牛膝) (1 qian), Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong, 杜仲) (1 qian), Psoraleae Fructus (Poguzhi, 破故纸) (1 qian),
Pruni Semen Persicae (Taoren, 桃仁) (2 seeds), Smilax Glabrae Rhizoma (Tufuling, 土茯苓) (8 liang), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 防风) (5 qian), Coicis Semen (Yiren, 薏苡仁) (5 liang), Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong, 杜仲) (1 liang), Plantaginis Seed (Cheqianzi, 车前子) (3 qian), Poria (Fuling, 茯苓) (5 qian).
Add ten bowls of water, boil twice, and collect two bowls of decoction. Mix with wine and drink until intoxicated to achieve a cure. Pain in the waist and feet is clearly due to Kidney deficiency and Qi decline, compounded by dampness invasion.
[This syndrome] The patient cannot leave the bed, exhibiting a pronounced stooped posture, caused by the invasion of cold-dampness qi. Use the following prescription:
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 白术) (5 qian), Euryales Semen (Qianshi, 芡实) (3 qian), Poria (Fuling, 茯苓) (1 liang), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Rougui, 肉桂) (1 qian), Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (Bixie, 萆薢) (1 liang), Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong, 杜仲) (3 qian).
Take daily without changing the formula; over time, it will yield great results.
This is a disease of the hand meridians, caused by Liver Qi stagnation. Use the following prescription:
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, 当归) (3 liang), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao, 白芍) (3 liang), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu, 柴胡) (5 qian), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi, 陈皮) (5 qian), Brassicae Albae Semen (Baijiezi, 白芥子) (3 qian), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo, 羌活) (3 qian), Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia, 半夏) (3 qian), Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix (Qinjiao, 秦艽) (3 qian), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi, 附子) (1 qian).
Add six bowls of water, boil three times, collect the decoction, mix with yellow wine, and take. Drink until intoxicated to achieve a cure.
The brilliance of this formula lies in using Baishao as the sovereign herb to pacify Liver Wood, preventing it from overacting on Stomach Earth. Qianghuo and Chaihu dispel wind and act directly on the upper hand meridians; Qinjiao also helps prevent phlegm retention; furthermore, Fuzi penetrates all channels, resulting in the disappearance of pain.
Contemporary practitioners use Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) to drain dampness, which is also correct reasoning; however, it cannot ascend to thoroughly eliminate dampness. One must lift the Qi so that water can be dispersed. Use the following prescription:
Ginseng Radix (Renshen, 人参) (3 qian), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 白术) (3 qian), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi, 黄芪) (1 liang), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng, 防风) (1 qian), Coicis Semen (Yiyiren, 薏苡仁) (5 qian), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Rougui, 肉桂) (1 qian).
Decoct and take orally.
This formula is a sacred medicine for draining dampness. Fangfeng used within Huangqi is sufficient to lift Qi and drain dampness; assisted by Chaihu to soothe Qi, the Qi naturally ascends, yielding effective results.
