Any sores or ulcers appearing on the body are caused by a deficiency in the constitution, allowing Wind-Heat pathogenic factors to invade. The Wind-Heat contends with the Blood and Qi, thereby generating sores. If Wind-Heat is combined with Damp-Toxin, the sores will present with itching, pain, swelling, and abundant exudate, accompanied by high fever; this is termed "E Chuan" (Malignant Ulcer).
