Damp impetigo (Shi Jie) presents as small pustules with thin skin, often exuding yellow fluid. This is caused by wind-heat pathogens residing superficially in the skin.
Formula for treating damp impetigo with persistent yellow exudate and unceasing itching: Aconite Powder (Wutou San).
Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Chuan Wutou, half liang) Veratrum nigrum Rhizome (Lilu, half liang) Calcined Alum (Baifan Hui, half liang) Horse Intestine Root (Machanggen, half liang) Acorus tatarinowii Rhizome (Shichangpu, half liang) Sulfur (Huangshan, half liang, finely ground) Apricot Seed (Xingren, half liang, peeled) Sophora flavescens Root (Kushen, half liang, chopped) Calomelas (Nifen, half liang)
