Hemiplegia is caused by the deficiency of the Spleen and Stomach, leading to a bias in Qi and Blood deficiency, and invasion by Wind pathogen. The Spleen and Stomach are the sea of water and grain; the essence of water and grain transforms into Qi and Blood. If Qi and Blood are insufficient, the collaterals lose nourishment, resulting in hemiplegia. Upon pulse diagnosis, if the Cun Kou (radial artery at the wrist) pulse is deep and fine, it is termed "Yin within Yang." Patients often feel sorrowful and unhappy, dislike hearing human voices, suffer from shortness of breath, sweat frequently, and cannot lift one arm. If the Cun Kou pulse is absent on one side, that arm will become paralyzed and unable to move. If the pulses of both hands are completely absent, the condition is incurable.
