If a patient suffers sudden death but retains faint breath and slight warmth in the heart region, this formula for Wushen Fanhun Dan (Five Spirits Returning Soul Pill) should be administered.
Ingredients: Cinnabar (Ban Liang), Calculus Bovis (Niu Huang), Benzoin Resin (Anxi Xiang), Arsenic Trioxide (Pishuang), Large Spider (Wu Mei, collected on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, stored in a bag, kept ventilated but not allowed to die).
