Postpartum "blowing milk" (Ruichui, a condition characterized by breast swelling and pain due to milk stasis) occurs when the infant falls asleep suddenly while nursing, causing the flow of milk to be obstructed. The milk accumulates internally and forms a lump.
To treat blowing milk: This condition arises when the infant's breath blows onto the breast, combined with maternal internal heat, causing milk to coagulate into lumps resembling peach or plum pits, accompanied by pain. It is appropriate to administer Lianqiao San (Forsythia Powder) to dissipate the accumulation.
