上捣艾令极熟。薄布于一张纸上。复以少许硫黄末。薄布于艾上。以芦一枝。与纸相当

Treatment for cough. Formula for fumigation with herbs.
Chouhuang (Asafoetida, 1 qian) Zhu Ya Zao Jia Mo (End of Tamarindus Indica Pod powder, 1 qian) La (Beeswax, 1 fen, finely cut) Ni Fen (Calomel, 1 qian) Ren Ru Zhi (Human milk, 1 he) Da Ma Ren (Cannabis Seed, 1 qian).
The above ingredients are all mixed evenly with human milk. Take a reed tube one chi two cun long, split it into two halves. Apply the medicine to one chi portion, leaving two cun hollow.
Then direct the medicated end towards the nostril.
Another formula.
Xunhuang (Realgar, 1 liang, finely ground).
Take one sheet of wax paper, thinly and evenly coat it with Xunhuang, mix with beeswax and human milk. Quickly roll it up as in the previous method, and fumigate. Stop when phlegm is expectorated. Rest and regulate after seven days.
Yet another formula.
Take an old blue cloth, four cun wide, spread cooked mugwort (Ai Ye, Artemisia argyi herb) on it. Sprinkle a small amount of Bai Fan Mo (Alum powder) on the mugwort. On top of the alum, sprinkle a small amount of Xunhuang powder and a little salt.
Inhale the smoke into the throat.
Be cautious daily.
Fumigation method for chronic cough that does not heal.
Every morning, take half a liang of Kuan Dong Hua (Coltsfoot Flower), moisten it with a small amount of honey, and place it in a small iron pot. Cover the pot with a porcelain bowl, drill a hole in the bottom of the bowl.
Ensure the hole does not leak air. Place charcoal fire under the pot to heat it. After a short while, smoke from Kuan Dong Hua will emerge from the tube. Hold the tube end in the mouth, inhale the smoke, and swallow it. If you feel slightly stifled in the heart/chest, temporarily lift your head. Immediately pinch the tube end with fingers to prevent smoke leakage. Stop when the smoke is fully inhaled. Perform this procedure once every three days. By the sixth day,
eat mutton until full. This will lead to permanent cure.
Another formula.
Pound mugwort until very soft/cooked, spread thinly on a sheet of paper. Sprinkle a small amount of Liu Huang Mo (Sulfur powder) thinly on the mugwort. Take one reed stem, matching the size of the paper.
Operate as described previously.
Formula for fumigation to treat cough accompanied by abdominal distension, rebellious Qi preventing lying flat.
Take one sheet of wax paper, spread cooked mugwort evenly and thinly over the paper. Spread 1 fen of Xunhuang powder and 2-3 fen of Kuan Dong Hua powder on the mugwort.
Place at one end of
a reed tube.
