During pregnancy, if a fall or trauma occurs, or if one falls from a height, the Bao Luo (uterine collaterals) may be damaged. This leads to bleeding that disturbs the fetus. If blood is injured and Qi rebels, it may result in miscarriage; if Qi rushes upward to the heart, the prognosis depends on whether the mother survives (the original text here appears to have missing content or formatting errors, implying conditions such as fetal death with maternal survival or vice versa).
For treating pregnancy complicated by falling from a height, presenting with abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and a greenish-yellow complexion, use E-Jiao San (Donkey-hide Gelatin Powder).
Ingredients: E-jiao (Cinobufacini/Donkey-hide Gelatin) (1 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry), Mu-xiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (0.5 liang), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizome) (0.5 liang), Shu Gan Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix) (0.5 liang), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) (1 fen, processed until cracked and sliced).
Process the above ingredients by crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Boil with 1 zhong zhan of water until reduced to 6 fen. Strain and take warm at any time.
For treating pregnancy complicated by falling from a height, presenting with abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and restlessness/oppression, use Gan Di Huang San (Raw Rehmannia Powder).
Ingredients: Sheng Gan Di Huang (Dried Raw Rehmanniae Radix) (1 liang), Yi Mu Cao (Leonuri Herba) (1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (0.5 liang, sliced and slightly stir-fried), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) (0.5 liang, sliced), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizome) (0.5 liang).
Process the above ingredients by crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Boil with 1 zhong zhan of water and 0.5 fen of fresh ginger until reduced to 6 fen. Strain and take warm at any time.
For treating pregnancy complicated by falling, where fetal movement causes Qi to rush upward to the heart, and the condition is critical, it is advisable to use Xie Zhua Tang (Crab Claw Decoction).
Ingredients: Xie Zhua (Unguis Potorii) (2 liang), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (3 fen, honey-fried until slightly red and sliced), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex) (0.5 liang), Lu Jiao Jiao (Colla Cornus Cervi) (1 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry).
Process the above ingredients by coarsely crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Boil with 1 zhong zhan of water until reduced to 6 fen. Strain and take warm at any time.
For treating pregnancy complicated by sudden fright and running, or falling from a height, presenting with abdominal pain and continuous vaginal bleeding, use Dang Gui San (Angelica Powder).
Ingredients: Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (1.5 liang, sliced and slightly stir-fried), E-jiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (2 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) (1 liang, slightly stir-fried), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizome) (1 liang).
Process the above ingredients by crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Boil with 1 zhong zhan of water until reduced to 6 fen. Then add 1 spoonful of fresh ginger juice, 0.5 he of fresh Rehmannia juice, and 0.5 he of Ma Tong Zhi (liquid extracted from horse manure). Boil for three to four more boils, strain, and take warm at any time.
For treating pregnancy at five to six months, following a fall from a height, causing intra-abdominal fetal discomfort, accompanied by stabbing pain below the umbilicus that does not cease, and vaginal bleeding, use Xiong San (Chuanxiong Powder).
Ingredients: Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizome) (3 fen), E-jiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (1 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (1 liang, sliced and slightly stir-fried), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) (0.5 liang, slightly stir-fried), Shu Gan Di Huang (Prepared Rehmanniae Radix) (dose unspecified in original).
Process the above ingredients by finely crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take at any time, mixing 2 qian with warm wine to administer.
For treating pregnancy where lifting heavy objects causes fetal movement and pain, use the following formula.
Ingredients: Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (1 liang, sliced and slightly stir-fried), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (1 liang, remove roots), E-jiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) (1 liang, crushed and stir-fried until yellow and dry).
Process the above ingredients by finely crushing and sieving them into a powder. Take at any time, mixing 2 qian with warm wine to administer.
For treating pregnancy complicated by falling injury, where fetal Qi does not move, presenting with abdominal pain and heaviness in the lower back, use this formula.
Ingredients: Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizome) (2 liang).
Process the above ingredient by finely crushing and sieving it into a powder. Take at any time, mixing 2 qian with warm wine to administer.
