Infants and children may develop *gan* qi (wasting-and-thirst syndrome qi) due to irregular breastfeeding or diet, imbalance of cold and heat pathogens, and damage to the Zang-Fu organs. If the Spleen and Stomach are weak, milk and food cannot be digested; if the Large Intestine is deficient and cold, this condition arises.
**Dingxiang San (Clove Powder)** for treating infantile *gan* dysentery with emaciation and dampness in the lower part:
* Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos, 1 fen)
* Taobai Pi (Prunus persica Cortex, half liang, roasted until slightly yellow)
* Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex, half liang, slightly roasted and crushed)
* Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, half liang, remove stamens, slightly stir-fried)
* Baifuling (Poria, half liang)
Crush the above ingredients into a fine powder through a sieve. For each dose, mix half a qian with rice water. Administer once in the morning and once in the evening. Adjust the dosage according to the child's age and size.
**Shexiang Wan (Musk Pill)** for treating infantile *gan* dysentery with dampness in the lower part:

* Wo Niu (Helix Aspersa, half liang, calcined to ash)
* Shetui Pi (Ophichthus skin, half liang, calcined to ash)
Grind the above ingredients together into a powder. Mix with soft cooked rice to form pills the size of millet seeds. Administer three pills per dose with cold rice water. Adjust the dosage according to the child's age and size.
**Huandan Wan (Lead Tetroxide Pill)** for treating persistent infantile *gan* dysentery with dampness in the lower part; it is advisable to expel parasites first, after which the dysentery will stop naturally:

* Ganchan (Dry Bufo, half liang, calcined to ash)
Pound all ingredients into a paste. Burn over charcoal until smoke ceases. Remove, pound into a fine powder, add one fen of Shexiang powder, and grind uniformly. Use flour paste to form pills the size of mung beans. Administer five pills per dose with rice water. Adjust the dosage according to the child's age and size.
**Ranshe Dan (Python Gallbladder)** formula for treating long-standing infantile *gan* dysentery, emaciation, lethargy, insomnia, dampness in the lower part, and inability to eat or drink:

Infantile dysentery with rectal prolapse is caused by long-term dysentery leading to deficiency-cold of the Large Intestine. The anus is the external manifestation of the Large Intestine. When the Large Intestine is injured by cold dysentery and strain is applied during defecation, prolapse occurs.

* Guitou (Turtle head, one piece, dried, roasted until scorched yellow)
* Longgu (Fossilized mammal bones, 1 liang)
