Phlegm-heat refers to a pathological condition arising from the accumulation and coagulation of ingested fluids. It is characterized by the obstruction of Yin and Yang Qi, with heat generated in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner). The heat pathogen contends with phlegm and fluid retention, aggregating without dispersing. Consequently, it causes a sensation of deficiency-heat throughout the body, impedes dietary intake, and produces a flushing heat in the head and face; hence, it is termed "Phlegm-Heat."
