Tai Chi (Neonatal Ophthalmia) refers to the condition occurring in newborns where improper cleaning of the eyes leads to contamination by dirty water, causing redness and ulceration of the eyelids. If left untreated, as the child grows, the condition will ultimately fail to heal.
Therefore, for Tai Chi accompanied by wind-toxin attacking upward, resulting in swelling and pain, the Shengma San (Cimicifugae Powder) formula is suitable.
Chuan Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae, 1 liang) Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, 1 liang, crushed) Xijiao Xie (Hornis Rhinocerotis Cornu, 1 liang) Ruren (Pruni Armeniaci Semen, 0.5 liang) Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix, 1 liang) Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 1 liang, removed rhizome)
The above herbs are coarsely ground and sifted into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with one zhong of water until reduced to 0.5 zhong, filter out the dregs, add Ban Zhi Li (Bambusae Caulis in Taeniam, 0.5 he), and boil for one or two more boils.
For Tai Chi with swelling and pain caused by stagnation in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner), the Maimendong San (Ophiopogonis Powder) formula is suitable.
