The Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian is the convergence point of numerous meridians. Its Qi ascends to connect with the ears. The ears are the orifice of the Kidney. If the meridians are deficient and damaged, and Qi and Blood are insufficient, Wind pathogen may invade, entering the ear meridians. This causes an obstruction of Righteous Qi, preventing its free flow. When Pathogenic factors and Righteous Qi clash, it results in tinnitus due to deficiency.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind, characterized by constant ringing in both ears, backache and stiffness, frequent and clear urination, emaciation and weakness, the Fuzi San (Aconite Powder) formula is suitable.
Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), 1 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed; Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis), 3 qian, roots removed, cut into pieces; Duzhong (Cortex Eucommiae), 3 qian, coarse bark removed, stir-baked until slightly yellow, cut into pieces; Wuweizi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis), 3 qian; Chenxiang (Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum), 1 liang; Shizhongru (Magnetitum), 2 liang, crushed, washed with water.
Crush the above ingredients into a coarse powder and sieve. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 zhongzhan of water, 0.5 banfen of fresh ginger, and 3 jujubes. Decoct until reduced to 6 fen. Strain and take warm before meals.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind, characterized by constant ringing in the ears, sometimes sounding like wind and rain, the Changpu San (Acorus Powder) formula is suitable.
Changpu (Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii), 1 liang; Yuanzhi (Radix Polygalae), 3 qian, heart removed; Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), 1 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed; Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), 1 liang; Fangfeng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), 3 qian, radix removed; Tianma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae), 1 liang, washed to remove red juice, wrapped in cloth.
Crush the above ingredients into a coarse powder and sieve. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 dazhan of water and the wrapped magnetite packet. Decoct until reduced to 6 fen. Strain and take warm before meals.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind, characterized by constant ringing in both ears, the Shenli Tang (Kidney Drip Decoction) formula is suitable.
Cishi (Magnetitum), 2 liang, crushed, washed with water to remove red juice, wrapped in cloth; Bajitian (Radix Morindae Officinalis), 1 liang; Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), 1 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed; Chenxiang (Lignum Aquilariae Resinatum), 0.5 liang; Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis), 0.5 liang; Nixi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae), 3 qian, sprouts removed; Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei), 0.5 liang, radix removed; Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), 0.5 liang.
Crush the above ingredients into a coarse powder and sieve. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 dazhan of water and one pair of sheep kidneys, removing the fatty membrane. Add 0.5 banfen of fresh ginger. Use the wrapped magnetite packet for decoction until reduced to 5 fen. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach and before evening meal.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind tinnitus, characterized by emaciated limbs, slippery and frequent urination, coldness during sleep at night, and decreased appetite, the Shenli Tang (Kidney Drip Decoction) formula is suitable.
Cishi (Magnetitum), 2 liang, crushed, washed with water to remove red juice, wrapped in cloth; Roushouyuung (Cibotii Rhizoma), 1 liang, soaked in wine, washed, wrinkled skin removed, lightly stir-fried; Renshen (Radix Ginseng), 3 qian, radix removed; Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), 0.5 liang, lightly stir-fried.
Crush the above ingredients into a coarse powder and sieve. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 dazhan of water and one pair of sheep kidneys, removing the fatty membrane. For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind, characterized by constant ringing in the ears, the Roushouyuung Wan (Cibotium Pill) formula is suitable.
Roushouyuung (Cibotii Rhizoma), 2 liang, soaked in wine overnight, cut into pieces, wrinkled skin removed, baked dry; Tusizi (Semen Cuscutae), 1 liang, soaked in wine for three days, dried in sun, separately pounded into fine powder; Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata), 3 liang, dried until yellow and crisp; Zexie (Rhizoma Alismatis Orientals), 1 liang; Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), 1 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed.
Pound the above ingredients into fine powder. Mix with refined honey and pound for 300-500 strikes to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills on an empty stomach daily with warm wine, and another dose before evening meal. Gradually increase to 50 pills.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind, characterized by constant ringing in the ears, pain in waist and legs, the Lurong Wan (Deer Antler Pill) formula is suitable.
Lurong (Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum), 1 liang, hair removed, coated with butter, baked until slightly yellow; Cishi (Magnetitum), 2 liang, calcined and quenched in vinegar seven times, crushed, finely ground, and water-classified; Tianxiong (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii), 1.5 liang, processed until cracked, skin and umbilicus removed; Wuweizi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis), 1 liang.
Pound the above ingredients into fine powder. Mix with refined honey and pound for 200-300 strikes to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills before meals with warm wine.

For the treatment of Kidney deficiency with Wind tinnitus, characterized by stiffness of waist and spine, and frequent slippery urination, the Sangpiaoxiao Wan (Mantis Egg-case Pill) formula is suitable.
Sangpiaoxiao (Oötheca Mantidis), 3 qian, lightly stir-fried; Changpu (Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii), 3 qian; Shanzhuyu (Fructus Corni Officinalis), 3 qian; Cishi (Magnetitum), 2 liang, calcined and quenched in vinegar seven times, crushed, finely ground, and water-classified; Tusizi (Semen Cuscutae), 3 qian.
