The condition of Ge Qi (膈气, obstruction qi) with chest oppression and stuffiness arises from sorrow, indignation, and excessive thinking, combined with disharmony between cold and heat. This leads to the knotting of Qi in the chest, causing blockage and separation between the upper and lower jiao, dysphagia or choking sensation during swallowing, and impaired flow of body fluids.
Deficiency-Cold Type:
Formula for treating Ge Qi with chest oppression, inability to eat, vomiting with reflux, irritability, and panting: Helile San (Chestnut Shell Powder).
