Wind-toxin sores are caused by internal heat and external deficiency, where wind-dampness takes advantage of the weakness to invade, thereby generating sores. The reason for this is that the Lung governs Qi and manifests on the skin and hair; the Spleen governs the muscles. When Qi is deficient, the pores open, allowing wind-dampness to invade. This pathogen combats with internal heat, resulting in sores appearing all over the body.
For treating wind-toxin sores on the body, or persistent itching and pain, use Kushen San (Bitter Sophora Powder).
