All horse meat, as well as the meat under the saddle, is toxic and should not be eaten. Ingestion can be fatal. Ordinary horse meat is non-toxic. However, horses that die from epidemics or infectious diseases have toxic meat.
Formula for treating severe diarrhea and dysentery caused by eating horse meat:
Douchi (Fermented Soybean) (300 grains), Xingren (Apricot Seed) (20 seeds, soaked in hot water and peeled).
Steam the above herbs with five sheng of rice. Once the rice is cooked, take a small amount of rice, crush it together with the herbs, and take it all at once. The illness will heal.
Formula for treating confusion and restlessness caused by poisoning from eating horse meat:
Crush Lu Gen (Reed Rhizome) to extract juice. Take one zhan of juice, mix with rice, boil into a decoction, and use it for a bath. This will resolve the toxicity.
Pork itself is non-toxic. However, pigs raised in the wild or those that died after consuming mixed toxic substances have toxic meat. If humans eat this meat, the toxic qi enters the zang-fu organs, causing vomiting and diarrhea.
Formula for treating indigestion of pork due to cold, which inevitably leads to parasitic accumulation:
Chuan Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei Preparata) (1 liang, crushed and lightly stir-fried), Chuan Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) (1 liang).
Boil the above herbs in two large zhan of water until reduced to one zhan. Strain the dregs and consume the entire dose. If digestion does not occur, add 1 liang of Xingren (Apricot Seed) with skin to the previous herbs, decoct together, and take. It will be effective immediately.
Dog meat has a very hot nature and should not be consumed in excess. Meat from dogs that died from epidemics or other unnatural causes is toxic. It is difficult to digest, leading to abdominal distension, palpitations, irritability, fever, and internal toxin accumulation.
Formula for treating indigestion of dog meat, characterized by hardness below the heart, dry mouth with excessive thirst, palpitations with fever, delirious speech, restlessness (desire to run), or severe diarrhea:
Take 3 liang of Xingren (Apricot Seed) with skin, grind finely. Mix with three zhan of hot water until uniform. Divide into three warm doses, taken before meals. The undigested pieces of dog meat will be expelled intact.
Duck meat is inherently non-toxic and harmless. Occasionally, if ingested and exposed to cold, it fails to digest and accumulates internally, causing abdominal disease.
Formula for treating illness caused by eating duck meat, presenting with chest fullness, red face, and anorexia:
Drink one zhan of Shumi Gant (the second rinse water of Sorghum grain) while warm.
The livers of all birds and beasts that die naturally are toxic and should not be eaten; they often harm people. Those dying from epidemics are even more dangerous. Victims of this toxicity often suffer from severe diarrhea, vomiting, and irritability.
Formula for treating poisoning from eating the livers of six domestic animals and birds/beasts:
Take Tou Gou (Scalp Scurf/Hair Matted Dirt) (1 qian), mix with warm water, and ingest.
Another formula:
Decoct Dou Chi (Fermented Soybean) to extract juice. Take one small zhan warm per dose, repeated several times.
The livers of all creatures should not be eaten casually. Do not eat the livers of animals that died on their own.
Formula for treating poisoning from eating raw liver:
Take Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), process until cracked, remove skin and umbilical scar, grind into powder. Take 1 qian with warm water, three to four times daily.
Formula for treating poisoning from eating the livers of various beasts:
Stir-fry Jiu Gen (Chinese Chive Root) until dry, crush and sieve into powder. For each dose, mix 1 qian with warm clarified pig fat (Zhu Zhi Qing) and swallow.
Formula for treating poisoning from eating raw horse liver:
Take 14 (two sevens) Xiong Shu Fen (Male Rat Excrement), preferably those pointed at both ends. Mix with water and drink.
Another formula:
Ingest 1 qian of Tou Gou (Scalp Scurf) with water; this is highly effective.
Formula for treating poisoning from eating wild horse liver/meat and various cured meats:
Swallow a date-sized piece of Tou Gou (Scalp Scurf) with water. This can relieve heavy fatigue.
Another formula:
Burn Dog Fen (Dog Excrement) to ash, squeeze out the juice with water, and drink. Recovery is immediate.
Another formula:
Burn Pig Gu (Pig Bone) to powder, mix with water, and take 2 qian.
