The disease of Huanghan (Yellow Sweat) is characterized by severe edema of the body, sweating without thirst, and symptoms resembling Fengshui (Wind-Water, a type of edema with head/face swelling and aversion to wind). The sweat stains clothing yellow like cypress juice. The pulse is naturally deep. This condition arises from heat in the Spleen and Stomach; when one sweats and enters water, or when bathwater enters through the sweat pores, Huanghan disease is formed.
To treat Huanghan disease, where the body feels heavy, there is sweating without thirst, and the sweat stains clothing yellow like cypress dye, use Huang San Powder.
