Generally, realgar (Xionghuang) is formed from orpiment (Cihuang) after a thousand years. Gold (Huangjin) is formed from realgar after a thousand years. Regarding gold, the best method of ingestion is that of the Zhenren (True Person/Immortal). Its subtlety and mystery are difficult to comprehend.

Take the above single herb, mix with three sheng of wine, and place in a copper vessel. Simmer gently over charcoal fire until boiling. Do not allow it to become too hot. Add two jin of high-quality lacquer, remove impurities, and mix into the vessel.
