Various types of Lin syndrome (stranguria) are caused by Kidney deficiency and Heat in the Bladder. The Bladder and Kidney are exterior-interiorly related, both governing water metabolism. Water enters the Small Intestine, descends to the Pao (Bladder), flows through the Yin region to form urine. Therefore, when the Kidney is deficient, frequent urination with difficulty occurs.
The so-called Shi Lin (Stone Stranguria) refers to the discharge of stones during urination. The Kidney governs water; when water condenses, it transforms into stones, thus the Kidney accommodates sand and stones. When Kidney deficiency is invaded by Heat, the Heat leads to the formation of Lin syndrome.
